Background

Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) is a newly launched centrally sponsored scheme by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to support the State Higher Education system. It provides a fresh approach to address concerns of access, equity and excellence through a reform based approach. The details of the scheme are available at http://www.mhrd.gov.in/rusa

A Technical Support Group RUSA to assist the State Project Directorate (SPD) is to be created to provide technical, strategic, and other support to the implementing bodies and assist in capacity building of all stakeholders for the successful implementation of the scheme.

TISS is seeking dedicated, hardworking and bright people to work as Consultants with SPD, Maharashtra.

Type of Contract

The successful candidate will be awarded a fixed-term one year contract which will include a 6-month probation period. Roles and responsibilities and performance appraisal framework will be developed and agreed at the beginning of the contract period.

Job Description

To be involved in implementation of RUSA along with other team members. The main responsibilities will include:

Designing and supporting initiatives for curriculum reform.

Designing and supporting initiatives for Vocationalisation of Higher education in general and specifically in the sector of Business Communication and Media Studies.

Developing content for Faculty Development programs with a view to improving skills the higher education sector.

Essential Qualification

Master Degree in any Social Science discipline/Languages/ Communications in First Division with 1 year experience.

Candidate should have cleared either National Eligibility Test of UGC/ State Eligibility for lecturer ship or have held Junior Research Fellowship/ Senior research Fellowship of UGC.

Compensation (Consolidated)

Rs.40,000/-to Rs. 60,000/-per month depending on the merit of the candidate as decided by the Selection Committee.

M. Phil/PhD in any of the Sciences including Pharmacy First Division with 7 years experience.

Candidate should have cleared either National Eligibility Test of UGC/ State Eligibility for lecturer ship or have held Junior Research Fellowship/ Senior research Fellowship of UGC/CSIR.

Compensation (Consolidated)

Rs. 50,000/-to Rs. 75,000/-per month depending on the merit of the candidate as decided by the Selection Committee.

The State Project Directorate is located at Mumbai, Maharashtra.
