The TISS Tuljapur Campus was established in 1987 with the goals of promotingsustainable, eco-friendly and equitable socio-economic development of rural communities. Through its programmes, TISS Tuljapur seeks to contribute to therevival of the rural economy, society, and polity by encouraging alternatives indevelopment. In order to achieve this, TISS Tuljapur has evolved a fourdimensional programme comprising teaching, training, field action and research& documentation. It has built a strong team of multidisciplinary faculty drawnfrom social work, philosophy, sociology, economics, agriculture, anthropology,psychology, geography and other related disciplines. Presently, it conducts a fiveyear Integrated BA-MA Programme in Social Sciences and MA in Social Work inRural Development.

TISS, Tuljapur Campus invites application from suitable candidates for one post ofAssistant Professor in the field of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) to befilled on yearly contract basis. The candidates those have already appliedfor this post as per advertisement. no. TISSRC/ADVT/ACAD/October2016and TISSRC/ADVT/ACAD/ December2016 need not apply again. Their applications will be considered as per the rules.

Remunerations: The selected candidates will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 55000/-per month. The Institute provides health insurance facility to itsemployee, his/her spouse, and first two dependent children.

Educational Qualification:

Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade ofB in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F at the MastersDegree (or equivalent) level in Social Sciences or Engineering or an equivalentdegree from an accredited foreign university. A relaxation of 5% will be providedfrom 55% to 50% of the marks at the Masters level for the SC/ST/differentlyabled category candidates, and to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have passedtheir Masters Degree prior to 19th September 1991.

Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared theNational Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

Candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance withthe University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Awardof Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement ofthe minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities.

Candidates are expected to have at least five years of experience in WASH sector.

Other Conditions:

The Institute reserves the right to relax qualification of the candidate based on the work experience and to relax age in the case of persons already holding comparable positions in a University/Voluntary Organisations/Research institution of repute.
