Advertisement for the post of Project Junior Research Fellow (JRF) OR Project Assistant (PA) under DST-SERB Project, at Institute of Nano Science and Technology

Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for engagement as Project Junior Research Fellow (JRF) OR Project Assistant (PA) in the research project funded by DST-SERB, Government of India, Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali.

Title of the Project: Nanoparticle-mediated inhibition of PRDX2 for selective killing of CHEK2-defective colorectal cancer cells by synthetic lethality

Number of positions available: One

Qualification:

Essential: M.Sc./M.Tech degree in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Pharmaceutical Sciences/Bioscience/Nano Sciences & Nano-technology with strong desire to work in the area of Cancer Nanomedicine.

Desirable: Candidate having working experience in Western Blotting, immunofluorescence, mammalian cell culture, siRNA-mediated silencing experiment will be preferred.

Age limit: Must not be over 28 years as on 11th October 2017 which is relaxable for certain reserved categories as per rules of Government of India.

Salary: Rs.25000/- (consolidated) for JRF with NET/GATE and Rs.14000/- + HRA (20%) for PA without NET/GATE.

Duration of Engagement: Initially for one year and may be extended based on performance of the candidate for next 6 months.

General Terms and Conditions:

The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of one and a half year years. The position is co-terminus with the project. Candidate selected for this position can also apply for the regular PhD program of INST provided they satisfy eligibility criteria.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
