Koshish : Field Action Project, Tata Institute of Social Sciences

Koshish, a field action project of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, was initiated in 2006and has its interventions in the states of Maharashtra, Delhi and Bihar. The programs works on theissues of Urban Poverty and Governance, especially homelessness and destitution.

Applications are invited for the following positions for our Bihar unit.

Total Vacancies: 3 Job Description:

1. Program Officer (A): Post Graduate with experience of at least 2-3 years in developmentsector, preferably on the issues related to women, elderly, mental illness or Urban poverty.

Salary: Rs 30,450/. per month.

Selected candidate will be involved in program development, co-ordination of program, especiallywith the partner agencies, supervision of field work students and interns etc. Brief responsibilitieswill include

• Provide Technical Support to Beggary Rehabilitation Program of Bihar Government.
  
  
• Facilitate and assist in different programs of organization including Legal Aid, Family Tracing,Rehabilitation, Livelihood generation while working closely on the issue of homelessness and beggary.
  
  
• Develop effective communication network and build strong relationship with all stakeholders including government, NGO partners and client groups.
  
  
• Plan and carry out field level activities in line with the objectives of the organization and documentation of the same.
  
  

2. Social Worker: Post graduate with experience of at least one year in development sector, especially with education, community development and livelihood programs. Salary: Rs. 26,250/ per month.

The Social Worker will be responsible for Coordination and Development of the existing Community intervention in Patna. Briefly, the responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating the education Program in Community which includes the NFE classes, School Admissions, Support Classes in Community.
  
  
• Coordinating and developing livelihood generation initiatives in the community including effectivenetworking with all stakeholders, employers, client groups etc.
  
  
• Facilitating the process of linking Client group to Government schemes and entitlements andliaison with concerned department for the same.
  
  
• Anchoring the Community program and documentation.
  
  
• Field based research studies.
  
  

3. Program Officer (B): Post graduate, preferably in Counselling or Health and Mental Health.

Salary: Rs 25000/ per month. Brief on responsibilities:

1. Selected candidate will implement the Rehabilitation program in State Homes under theguidance of Program Head.
   
   
2. Developing Support network for the families of the clients.
   
   
3. Follow up on clients rehabilitated within families/ community.
   
   

Note:

1. All positions are initially for the period of one year and can be renewed on the basis ofannual review.
   
   
2. All positions are Patna based. However, depending on the need of the project, candidatemay be posted in neighbouring districts.
   
   
3. Each position is provided with actual expenses towards phone, travel and internet.
   
   
4. Each candidate will also be provided with medical insurance.
