*Corrigendum 1: The position of Professor mentioned in the notification earlier under reservation to SC-371(J) category to a particular department is hereby corrected. PROFESSOR:
A.
-
- (i) An eminent scholar with P.G in the relevant subject and Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/allied/ relevant discipline and published work of high quality actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
- (ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in relevant subject at university/college, and/or experience in research at the University/ National level institutions/ industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.
- (iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process.
- (iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in UGC Regulations in Appendix III.
- (v) The Candidates applying for Professor in Physical Education/Education shall posses qualifications as per NCTE/UGC norms.
OR
B. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/ relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:
- (i) Good academic record with Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
- (ii) A Masters Degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
- (iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching in relevant subject and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
- (iv) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
- (v) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in this Regulation in Appendix III.
- (vi) The candidate applying Associate Professor in Physical Education/Education shall posses qualifications as per NCTE/UGC norms.

GENERAL INFORMATION
- 1. The University is looking for qualified, accomplished and committed faculty members who believe in institution-building and have a passion for academic excellence through teaching and quality research.
- 2. Applications in the prescribed online format are invited from such eligible and suitable candidates for filling-up of teaching positions at the level of Professor and Associate Professor in various disciplines on regular basis.
- 3. The Last Date for submission of applications complete in all respects is 03-03-2018 at 5.30 PM and last date of receipt of one hard copy of online application with enclosures giving details of academic qualifications, experience, published work etc. is on 10-03-2018 up to 5.30 PM.
- 4. The qualifications, Pay Scales and other conditions for the advertised teaching positions shall be in accordance with the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education 2010 (hereinafter referred to as UGC Regulations 2010) and its subsequent amendments issued on time to time published in the Gazette of India, and are subject to any future regulations/norms, including amendments in the present regulations stipulated by the MHRD/UGC applicable to such recruitments, which may change from time to time.
- 6. Reservation for SCs/STs, OBCs and PWDs for all posts exists as per the guidelines of the UGC/ GoI/GoK. Candidates applying for the reserved posts should clearly state to which category they belong. They must also enclose attested Photostat copy of Caste Certificate from the concerned competent authorities.
- 7. A relaxation of 5% shall be provided at the Graduate and Masters level for the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Persons with Disability (PWD) categories for the purpose of eligibility. The minimum eligibility of percentage of marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed shall be considered. It will be the responsibility of the candidate to provide equivalence certificate for grade achieved (in terms of %) issued by the concerned degree awarding University. In the absence of such a certificate, the verification shall not be considered for appointment to the post applied for.
- 8. The candidates selected shall be appointed under a written contract as per UGC norms.
- 9. The appointment of candidates on regular basis shall be governed by New Pension Scheme (NPS)
- 11. Call letters and other correspondence for attending the interview, etc., will be sent only to the eligible candidates by Email only.
- 12. Only matriculation/SSC certificate/Admit card/passing certificate issued by the concerned education board only will be considered as proof of date of birth.
- 13. Reservations for SC, ST, OBC and Persons with Disabilities will be as per Government of India/Government of Karnataka norms as amended from time to time. Candidates applying for the reserved posts should clearly state to which category they belong. They must also enclose a Certificate issued by Tahsildar/ Revenue Officer/Equivalent authority as proof to this effect, without which the application will not be considered. Candidates applying for the post(s) reserved for OBC, should submit an self-attested copy of valid caste certificate specifically mentioning Creamy Layer-exclusion in the format prescribed by Govt. of India/Govt. of Karnataka (which should not be more than 6 months old from the last date of submission of application), issued by competent authority.
- 14. The list of short-listed candidates for Interview and details will be published on the University Website i.e., www.kswu.ac.in. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the University website for getting the information. Any excuse / complaint for not visiting the University website shall not be entertained.
- 15. Candidates must write their Email ID neatly and correctly for mailing written examination/ interview/appointment letter as attachment. The e-mail date will be considered as the official date of dispatch and receipt of communication. Candidates not having an E-mail-ID must create an ID and check it regularly for further communication.
- 16. The candidates selected for appointment are expected to join at the EARLIEST POSSIBLE but not later than Fifteen Days. However the University will have right to accept/reject the request of the candidates for extension of joining date on special/extraordinary circumstances.
- 17. Separate applications need to be submitted by the candidates applying for various GM/UR/Reserved categories i.e. UR/SC/ST/OBC/PWD as per the vacancy advertised for a particular post must specifically opt for the same in the online application. I.e. a reserved candidate if claiming under General Category need to apply separately with the fees prescribed for their original category with different registration E-mail id.
- 18. The eligibility of candidates will be determined as on the last date fixed for submission of online applications i.e., 03-03-2018 by 5.30 PM.
- 19. Before applying for a post, candidates are advised to satisfy themselves about their eligibility as per UGC norms. No enquiry in this regard will be entertained.
- 20. The service conditions including pay band and age of superannuation shall be as per guidelines issued by Govt. of Karnataka.
- 21. Candidates who desire to apply for more than one post will be required to submit separate applications on the prescribed format along with all the specified supporting documents and application fee along with each application.
- 22. Teachers appointed may be assigned other academic or administrative responsibilities in addition to their regular teaching and research as per the need.
- 23. Every person appointed permanently to a post in the University by direct recruitment, shall be on probation in such post for a period of two years in the first instance, provided that the appointing authority may, in any individual case, extend the period of probation to such extent as it may deem necessary, the reasons thereof to be recorded in writing.
- 24. Where a person has not completed his period of probation satisfactorily, the appointing authority may terminate his services under the University without notice and assigning any reason thereof.
- 25. The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted at any time at the time of appointment or during the tenure of service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted are fake or the candidate has clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, his/her services shall be terminated forthwith.
- 26. The applicants serving in Government/Semi-Government organizations/Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies must submit NOC from their employer.
- 27. Candidates shall have to produce original documents at the time of Interview along with authentic Photo ID.
- 28. Canvassing in any form may lead to cancellation of candidature.
- 29. Incomplete online application and subsequent submission of hard copy of application without relevant supporting enclosures (self-attested copies of degree/certificates/marks sheets/experience certificate, etc.) will be out-rightly rejected. Consequent upon adoption of self-certification provisions as required by the Govt. of India, the University shall process the applications entirely on the basis of information/documents submitted by the candidates. In case the information/documents are found to be false/incorrect by way of omission or commission, the responsibility and liability shall lie solely with the candidate.
- 30. Information uploaded on the University Website shall not be provided to the candidate. The uploaded information on the University Website shall remain for a specific period only. Therefore, the candidates are advised to download the information and keep them for future reference. Factual information under RTI Act shall be provided only after declaration of final result. Reply to inferential (speculative) question shall not be provided.
- 31. Though the selected employees headquarters will be Vijayapura, Karnataka he/she will be liable to serve anywhere in Karnataka.
- 32. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the Vice-Chancellor, Akkamahadevi Womens University, Vijayapura in all matter relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of interview will be final and binding on the candidates and
- no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or his/ her agency.
- 33. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection, which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment order, the University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/ cancel any communication made to the candidates.
- 34. Corrigendum or Addendum or Cancellation to this advertisement, if any, shall be published only on the University Website www.kswu.ac.in and will not be published in the newspapers. Therefore, the candidates are advised to check the University Website regularly.
- 35. Fake/derecognised Institutions: Candidates, who have obtained degrees or diplomas or certificates for various courses from any Institution declared fake/derecognised by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi shall not be eligible for being considered for recruitment to the posts advertised.
- 36. The posts are being advertised keeping in view the broad areas of specialization in subjects. However, the Department concerned may have specific requirement of specialization.
- 37. Publications under submission or submitted to referees will not be considered towards calculation of points for publication criteria. Further, all the items for which points are claimed should be strictly in accordance with the screening guidelines attached with the advertisement.
- 38. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without assigning any reason thereof.
- 39. Persons dismissed by the Union Government or by a State Government or by a Local Authority or a Government Corporation owned or controlled by the Central Government or State Government will be deemed to be ineligible for appointment.
- 40. No person shall be recruited unless he/she is in good mental and physical health and free from any physical defect that is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of his official duties. Before a candidate recruited directly is finally approved for appointment to the establishment he shall be required to produce a medical certificate of fitness from whom the appointing authority specifies.
- 41. Equivalence certificates for degrees awarded from recognized foreign Universities as per AIU may be submitted in relevant cases.
- 42. The prescribed qualifications and experience are a minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possesses, the same will not entitle him/her for being called for interview.
- 43. Selection will be made on the basis of candidates previous record (including the requirement of API scores as envisaged in the UGC-Regulations dated 11.07.2016) and Govt of Karnataka Circular No: ED/136UNE, dated 17.07.2017 and their performance in the interview. The University may utilize seminar or colloquium as an additional method of selection.
- 44. The API Score calculated in the online form is only indicative of the applicants eligibility and it shall be confirmed following due scrutiny by the appropriate committee constituted by the University as per norms.
- 45. In case of any disputes/suites or legal proceedings against the University, the Jurisdiction shall be restricted to the Courts in Vijayapura, which is the Head quarter of the University.
- 46. Errors and omissions in notification and selection process are subject to corrections.
- 47. The University may consider the UGC non recognised, refereed and reputed research papers for determining the merit of eligible candidates based on the recommendations of the selection committee during interview.
- 48. The medium of instructions in respect of all courses conducted in the School, Centres and Department, admitted to the privileges of the University shall be English/Kannada except in cases of studies / research in languages.
- 49. The candidates are suggested NOT to upload the copies of research papers /publications in the online form. However, he/she requires sending all the relevant publications along with the hard copy of the application form for considering the candidature.
- 50. The candidates while calculating the API Score for category I & II shall consider the details of one academic year only (with relevant documents) as per UGC norms.
- 51. The candidates need not fill the additional details (for example: Ph.D marks/ grade, etc.,) for which the information is not applicable/available. However, mandatory data must be provided.
- 52. Additional information if any, (for example: double/additional degree, name change details, etc.,) can be sent as hard copies along with print out of application.
- 53. Regular Service is considered subject to the following conditions:
- a) The candidate should have been appointed in University /Autonomous Institution/Deemed to be University/Government College, Government aided institutions or any other reputed institutions recognised by UGC/Government of India / State Government or a Research Centre recognised by a University as per law through the process of selection duly constituted BOA as per UGC/Universities Act and should have taught at PG level / guiding research in the concerned discipline for the post applied.
- b) The qualifications of the candidate at the time of appointment should not have been lower than the qualification prescribed by the UGC during that period.
- c) The candidate should have drawn the UGC pay scales.
- d) The candidate should have satisfied all the conditions of UGC during his/her service period.
Note:
- 1. The candidate claiming experience is required to satisfy/Produce the relevant documents fulfilling the above conditions of regular service. The teachers working in Govt. Aided/ Private Institutions shall submit the proof of satisfying conditions of service duly signed by Joint Director/competent authority.
- 2. Documentary evidences for claiming points under each category (I, II &III) of API have to be enclosed.
- 1. APPLICATION FEE AND MODE OF PAYMENT:
- Rs.4000/- for General Candidate /UR/OBC category applicants
- Rs 2000/- for SC/ST/Cat-1/PWD category applicants.
- Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- Payment should be made online only, through Credit/Debit card/Net Banking as provided in the payment gateway in the online application form.
- The application form shall be rejected in case payment is not received as above before the last date of closing the application.
- Payment should be made for each application separately
- Online charges are as per payment method opted.
Application forms have to be filled only in online mode, as available on the website of
the University along with the present advertisement, within the prescribed time limit indicated in the advertisement. Offline forms will not be accepted.
A hard copy of the online application along with self-attested copies of testimonials/certificates in an envelope duly superscripted Application for the post of must be sent to The Registrar, Akkamahadevi Womens University, Jnanashakti Campus, Torvi - Vijayapura-586105 (Karnataka State) so as to be received by the undersigned on or before 10-03-2018 up to 05:30 p.m. If any postal delay or any other reasons delay the university will be not responsible.
In service candidates must forward the hard copy of the online application form along with all self-attested enclosures through proper channel so as to be received by the undersigned on or before 10-03-2018 up to 5:30 p.m. The candidates shall submit 8 sets of application along with all attachments at the time of interview.
