The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) which was established in 1936is a Deemed University fully funded by the University Grants Commission(UGC), Government of India. The TISS offers 50 Master's DegreeProgrammes in a range of Socially relevant inter-disciplinary of SocialWork, Social Sciences, Health, Management, Labour Studies, Habitat Studies and Rural Development from its Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati andHyderabad Campuses. It has a strong M.Phil/Ph.D programme. A highdegree of freedom and autonomy shape the positive work ethos andcreativity in the Institute. The TISS offers a very challenging but fulfillingacademic environment and opportunities to scholars committed to creating a just society through education, generation of knowledge andfield action.
The Institute invites applications from interested scholars for the post ofAssistant professor (2 Posts) in the Centre for Hospital Management,School of Health Systems Studies. The posts are to be filled on contractbasis for a period of one year initailly and may be extended furter on year to year basis based on the performance of the candidate and requirement of the institute. The selected candidate should work as perthe job descriptions and guidelines provided by the Centre. He/She should work on various assignments including teaching, providingguidelines, research, field supervisions of Masters Degree and ExecutiveDiploma Programme students.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Remuneration: PB: Rs. 15600-39100 AGP Rs. 6000/-
Educational Qualification:
Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalentgrade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and Fat the Masters Degree (or equivalent) level or an equivalent degree froman accredited foreign university with specialisation related to HospitalAdministration. A relaxation of 5% will be provided from 55% to 50% ofthe marks at the Masters level for the SC/ST/differently-abled categorycandidates, and to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have passed theirMasters Degree prior to 19th September 1991.
Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR orsimilar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. Candidates, who are, orhave been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET forrecruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities.
Candidates having Ph. D. with demonstrated ability or experience toteach the following subjects would be preferred.

The eligible candidates will be communicated through an e-mail or mobile phone to appear for the presentation and interview to be conducted at TISS, Mumbai Campus. Selected candidates may have to join by the end of June, 2018.
Application fee :
The application fee of Rs. 1000/-be paid on-line. The SC/ST/PWDcandidates will be waived from the application fee if they attach therequired certificate to the online application form. The application will bevalid only on receipt of the application fee for those who are required topay. Fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
Other Conditions:
The Institute reserves the right to relax qualification of the candidate based on the work experience and to relax age in the case of persons already holding comparable positions in a University/Voluntary Organisations/Research institution of repute.
The institute reserves the right to invite persons for interview whomay not have applied for as per the above procedure and not fill upthe vacancy advertised.
The post is unreserved, but candidates belonging to reserved category can apply.
