Advertisement for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Position

Applications are invited from highly motivated and eligible candidates for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in a SERB funded research project entitled, Optimization models and algorithms for non-parallel support vector machines at IIT Indore.

Objective of the project:

The main objective of this project is to develop novel optimization algorithms for nonparallel SVM for the analysis and classification of large scale benchmark datasets including human brain disorders disease datasets. The performance of the developed algorithm will be compared with the existing algorithms using several measures; classification accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, computational complexity and Matthews correlation coefficient etc.

It involves a strong background of optimization, machine learning, signal processing, and good knowledge of programming languages/software like MATLAB, C, Python etc.

Eligibility:

Essential Qualification:

(i)

M.Sc. degree in Mathematics/Computer Science/Statistics/ or in equivalent streams with NET/valid GATE score. OR

(ii)

M.Tech./M.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/or in equivalent streams. OR

(iii) B.Tech./B.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/or in equivalent streams with a GATE score.

Desirable Qualification:

Candidates having exposure to support vector machines, biomedical engineering and signal processing are encouraged to apply

Stipend: The amount of JRF fellowship will be as per DST-SERB norms and it is INR 25,000 + 20% HRA (if hostel accommodation is not provided).

Duration: Initial appointment will be for one year, which is extendable up to a maximum of 3 years solely based on performance.
