ASSISTANTS/FIRST DIVISION ASSISTANTS:-

RULES APPLICABLE:-
This recruitment shall be made as per the Rules and Procedures laid down in the Karnataka Civil Services (Recruitment to the Ministerial Posts) Rules 1978.

PAY SCALE:-
For Assistants: ` 16000-400-17200-450-19000-500-21000-600-24600-700-28800-800-29600 For FDA: ` 14550-350-15600-400-17200-450-19000-500-21000-600-24600-700-26700

AGE LIMIT:-
As per above rules candidates must have attained the age of 18 years and not attained the age of 40 years in case of a person belonging to the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes or Cat-I, and 38 years in the case of other category and 35 in the case of General Merit Candidates, on the last date fixed for the receipt of Applications.

Qualification:-
As per this rules Candidate is a holder of a Bachelors Degree or equivalent of a recognised University established by law.

METHOD OF SELECTION:-
Commission shall conduct Written Examination for eligible candidates as per the Karnataka Civil Services (Recruitment to the Ministerial Posts) Rules 1978 as amended from time to time. Based on the marks obtained in the written examination and the preference indicated by the candidates, Select list shall be prepared for available vacancies of various Department classified according to the Rules as amended from time to time.

SYLLABUS FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATION:-
The Written Examination shall consist of two papers. It shall be objective type with multiple choices
a) Paper-I :
General Knowledge
- 150 marks
- 2 hours duration
b) Paper-II:
General Kannada or General English
- 150 marks
- 2 hours duration

Recruitment to the said posts has been made according to the Karnataka Excise Services (Recruitment) 1996 and (Amendment) Rules 2008

As per above rules candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and not attained the age of 28 years in case of a person belonging to the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, and 26 years in the case of any Other Person, on the last date fixed for the receipt of Applications.

As per this rules Candidate is a holder of a Bachelors Degree or equivalent qualification.
Physical Standard:-
Candidate must possess the following physical standards;

Y Candidates must pass in minimum 3 items out of 5
Y No Marks are prescribed for the Physical Test, however there are qualifying eligibility test.
Y The Physical Test shall be conducted by the District Surgeon and the District Youth Service Officer as members. The Deputy Commissioner of Excise of the concerned District shall be the Member Secretary of this Committee.

METHOD OF SELECTION:-
Commission shall be conducted Written Examination for eligible candidates as per the Karnataka Excise Services (Recruitment) 1996 and (Amendment) Rules 2008. Based on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination, the candidates shall be required to appear for the physical standard and efficiency test.
Qualified Candidates in Physical standard and efficiency test, on the basis of marks secured in the written examination, Selection List shall be Prepared.

SYLLABUS FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATION:-
The Written Examination shall consist of two papers of degree standards.

Paper-I:- shall consists of two parts. One Part on Essay writing in English or Kannada carrying 30 marks and the Second part on translation of a passage.

from English into Kannada and ii) from Kannada into English shall be of one and half hours duration carrying 50 marks (30 marks for Essay, 20 marks for translation). There shall be no minimum marks.

Paper-II :- shall consists of questions of General Studies in General Knowledge, Science, Geography, History, Constitution, National Freedom Movement and General Mental ability, to be answered in Kannada or English. It shall carry 150 marks and there shall be no minimum marks. It shall be objective type with multiple choices and of one and half hours duration.

Recruitment to the said posts has been made according to the Karnataka General Service (Development Branch and Local Government Branch) Recruitment of Panchayath Development Officers (Special) (Recruitment) Rules, 2009

Candidate should obtained 35% marks in Computer Literacy (qualifying examination). Based on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination and qualified in the Computer Literacy, candidates shall be selected. Candidates who have not qualified in the Computer Literacy shall not be considered. In the Competitive Examination total marks obtained out of 120 marks in Part-II Paper shall be considered
