ADVERTISEMENT FOR POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP POSITION

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee invites applications from outstanding and enthusiastic researchers for Postdoctoral Position for working on a project focused on "Privacy Preservation while Removing Data Redundancies".

The prospective candidate is expected to have a strong background in Image Processing, Information Security and Cryptography. The prior knowledge of Encryption/Decryption techniques in image/video and Deep Learning will be considered as added qualification. Candidate should be passionate about working in encrypted domain problems. Other research activities may include participating in research discussion with overseas universities and research centres.

Last date of application submission is 31^st August, 2018.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

The prospective candidate should have following qualifications i.e. at least one SCI publication in Image Processing and PhD in the area of Image Processing with research experience on Multimedia Security/Digital Watermarking/ Cryptographic Protocols, Specialization in Data Security and Cloud Computing.

Candidates who have recently submitted their doctoral thesis are also eligible to apply subject to the condition that they will furnish the proof of award of PhD degree at the time of interview.

Duration and Fellowship amount

The duration of the fellowship will be of two years extendable to three years, if necessary. The candidate is expected to join the Department as soon as offer letter has been released. The fellow will receive a consolidated fellowship as below in addition with the contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/-per annum.

First Year: Rs. 50,000/-per month

Second Year: Rs. 55,000/-per month

Notes:

(i)

The Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) will be registered as IIT Roorkee students for availing the facilities of accommodation, hospital, medical insurance scheme, computer centre, library, sports, etc.

(ii)

The candidates called for discussion/interview will be paid II-AC train fare from their place of residence/work and back by the shortest route within India.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in January 2013. The department offers B.Tech, M.Tech., and PhD programs. The department is known for its internationally reputed faculties having expertise in diverse fields. It has active research groups in the broad areas of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology.
