ADVERTISEMENT TO FILL UP PROJECT POSITIONS

Applications are invited from Indian nationals only for project position as per the details given below for the research project under the Principal Investigator: Dr. Sarit Kumar Das, Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee.

Title of project: Monitoring, Modelling and Forecasting of Soil Moisture at Regional Scale to Assess the Impact of Climate Change on Air Pollution Meteorology

1. Sponsor of the project:

   Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India

2. Project position and number:

   Junior Research Fellow (JRF), 01 (one)

4 a. Essential Qualifications:

Bachelor in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or relevant Applied Sciences; Masters in Water Resources/ Hydraulics/ Thermal Engineering/ Thermodynamics/ Atmospheric Sciences with GATE/NET Score

b. Desirable Qualifications:

Proficiency in Numerical Modelling, Hands on experience in Software packages, e.g. MATLAB, Python, PEARL.

1. Emoluments:

   Rs. 25,000/- pm as per the latest DST norms

2. Duration:

   Till August, 2021

3. Job description:

   To carry out research work for the above project, including field work and numerical modelling, and write manuscript for publications.

1. Candidates before appearing for the interview shall ensure that they are eligible for the position they intend to apply.

2. Candidates desiring to appear for the Interview should submit their applications with the following documents to the office of

   Principal Investigator through email, by post or produce at the time of Interview:

   1. Application in a plain paper with detailed CV including chronological discipline of degree/certificates obtained.

   1. Experience including research, industrial field and others.

   2. Attested copies of degree/certificate and experience certificate.

3. Candidate shall bring along with them the original degree(s)/certificate(s) and experience certificate(s) at the time of interview for verification.

4. Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates on equal qualifications and experience.

5. Please note that no TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.

Note: The selected candidate may get an opportunity for Ph.D. admission

The walk-in-interview will be held at 11:00 AM on May 30, 2017 in the Department of Civil Engineering.
