Prescribed Minimum Qualification / Experience:

1. Draftsman

IIT Jammu transit campus is under construction and the deposit works have been awarded to CPWD Jammu. The progress of works is to be monitored by IWD IIT Jammu in close coordination with CPWD, Architects/ system designers, Contractor engineers etc. The transit campus is likely to be completed by June and the handing over of the campus facilities will be completed by July 2018.

Further the Master planning for the main campus is also under consideration and the planning of main campus facilities are also likely to commence soon. This major infrastructure would be planned for the 400 acres campus and will take at least five years to complete. The planning for the main campus would start with the preparation of Master Plan and would include schemes, designs and drawings of proposed structures and services. During the planning stage there is a need to study and identify the requirements for Academics, Faculty offices, Labs, student and staff accommodation, Guest houses, other services for Electricity, LAN, Telecom, Fire, security surveillance etc. so that the main campus is functional, safe, sustainable and state of art in terms of technology.

The design and construction shall be monitored by internal work department of IIT Jammu. IWD will need one draftsman who will assist the superintending engineer and owners architect in preparing drawing/detailing required during interaction with architect.

Remuneration: Consolidated salary of 30,000 per month.

Qualification: -Candidate must have diploma in Architecture/Civil with minimum of two years of relevant experience and should have good command in AutoCAD. Candidates with working knowledge of BIM, Revit or any other 3D modelling software would be preferred.

Key responsibilities: The draftsman will assist the IWD in making sketches, lab layouts, furniture and other technical drawings required. The draftsman will also handle the designs and drawings sent by architect in Revit; and will also be responsible for keeping the inventory of drawings issued by architect.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Candidates should read carefully the requisite minimum essential qualifications, age and eligibility, experience criteria etc. laid down in the advertisement before applying for the relevant post.
   
   
2. Good knowledge of Computer applications (on emails, word processing, spreadsheet, presentations software etc. and OS like MS-Windows) is a must.
   
   
3. The post is initially on contract basis for a period of one year, which may be extended annually up to two years based on the performance.
   
   
4. Shortlisted candidates shall be called for Trade Test/Interaction evaluation. Mere qualifications may not ensure shortlisting and Institute may apply higher than minimum cut off criteria to ensure reasonable number of candidates.
