Applications are invited for the post of Director, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai in the pay scale of 2,25,000/-pm (fixed). The appointment will be made on contract basis for a period of five years. In addition, Dearness and other allowances as per Central Government Rules are admissible. Rent free furnished residential accommodation (Bungalow) will be provided in the Campus. The Director is also eligible for medical benefit and Leave Travel Concession as per rules.

2. NITIE, Mumbai is an autonomous body under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1961. The Institute is fully funded by the Central Government. The appointment shall be made on contract basis for an initial term of 5 years or till the age of 65 years whichever is earlier.

a. Work Profile of the Director

The Director is to plan, organise and control the activities and development programmes of the institute which has an important role to play in education, research and training aspects of Industrial Engineering and Allied Productivity techniques in the country. He is the Chief Executive of the Institute and will be in-charge of both academic and administrative functions. The job involves a great deal of interaction with business, industry, government, universities and funding agencies, The Director is permitted to undertake consultancy work in accordance with the rules of the Institute.

b. Qualification

The Director should be a person with eminent academic credentials in the field of engineering, preferably a Doctorate with at least 1 0 years experience in the practical application of modem management techniques and methods plus at least 5 years experience in high management positions in well established industries or technical educational institutions.

c. Age

Applicant/nominee should preferably be below the age of 60 years at the time of advertisement.

3. The candidates called for interview from outside will be paid single Economic Class Air fare/1st Class Railways/ Air-conditioned Bus Fare by shortest route for their journey io and from. Provision for higher start of scale exists for exceptionally qualified and deserving candidates.
