Post Code 02: Structural Design Expert

M.Tech (Structure) with minimum 20 years of professional experience in design of heavy civil engineering structures including minimum 10 years in design of underground stations and tunnels. Should be well versed with relevant codes & standards for stations, tunnels design. Through knowledge of design software like STADD PRO, WALLAP, PLAXIS, etc. is essential.

Role and Responsibility: Has to lead the design works to optimize the cost & time and has to manage the entire product/project of the design and construction for efficient/fast track delivery of the project. The role also includes with interaction with the various disciplines/departments/Public Authorities/ stakeholders (Architectural, MEP, Geotechnical, rail, tract, system, System Wide Contractors, contract, tender, legal, land acquisition, Public utilities, traffic diversion etc.)

Post Code 03: Architectural Expert

Bachelor Degree in Architecture with minimum 15 years of professional experience in architecture design and planning of underground metro system. Should also possess thorough knowledge of Green building ratings for metro transit systems, stations graphics and art work, signage and way finding, barrier free design, restoration and reinstatement of stations in line with land take and coherent to the requirements of civic infra structures authorities of city. Should be proficient with NFPA 130 and NBC Standards for design of transit system egress analysis emergency evacuation. Should also be able to arrange/coordinate sample, scheme and patterns; mock-up for various architecture finishes elements as per latest industry trends. Should have knowledge of design software like Autocad, Revit, 3D Max, Photoshop, sketch up, etc. to develop plans and schemes, 3D views required by the management.

Role and Responsibility: Has to lead the Architectural design to make an integrated design with the surroundings in terms of, passenger flows, multimodal transport integration, urban environment & associated Aesthetics at the exterior and very effective & efficient utilization of space inside the station, Entrances & Ancillary buildings at the interiors. Should be able to work for the station design to the extent for optimal space utilization for commercial uses as much as possible. The role and responsibilities should also include liasioning and coordination with the various disciplines/departments/Public Authorities /stakeholders (Architectural, MEP, Heritage Structures, Urban development authority rail, track, system, System Wide Contractors, contract, tender, legal, land acquisition, Public utilities, traffic diversion etc.).

Post Code 04: MEP Expert

BE/B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics with minimum post qualification experience of 12 years in MEP design, planning, installation, testing and commissioning, operation and maintenance of Electrical and Mechanical systems of which specific Metro experience should be more than 8 years. Should have exposure to HVAC, TVS, Fire alarm and suppression systems, SCADA systems, BMS in Metro projects. Candidates with Metro experience shall be given preference.

Post Code 05: AM / DM / Manager (Track)

Candidate must possess graduation in Civil Engineering from a reputed University /Institute recognized by Govt. Should possess minimum of 5 years, 7 years and 10 years post-qualification experience for the post of Asst. Manager, Dy. Manager and Manager respectively in major Railroad Construction/ Maintenance Projects/ Metro and Railway Projects with hands on experience in track alignment and laying, welding of rail joints by mobile flash butt welding and placing of points and crossings. Management of contracts relating to track infrastructure, knowledge and skill in management of FIDIC conditions of contract/International Civil Constructions Contract is desirable.

Post Code 06: AM / DM / Manager (Finance & Accounts)

Must be a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India or Cost Accountant and member of Institute of Cost Accountant of India with minimum 2 to 7 years of postqualification executive experience in Finance and Accounts department in a PSU or Govt Sector or in a private company or reputed Chartered Accountant firm. The candidate should have sound knowledge and experience in indirect taxes and direct taxes.

1) Selection process:

The selection methodology comprises two-stage process, interview followed by Medical examination. The selection process would judge different facets of knowledge, skills, comprehension, aptitude and physical fitness.

a) Medical Examination:

Expenses for the first time medical examination of the candidate will be borne by CMRL. However, in case a candidate seeks extension for joining, then the second time medical examination expenditure will be borne by the candidate. To & fro travel expenses for the medical test shall be borne by the candidate. The candidate who fails in the prescribed medical test will not be given any alternative employment and decision of CMRL is final on this issue.

2) Character & Antecedents:

The success in the above stated selection process does not confer any right to appointment unless CMRL is satisfied after such an inquiry, as may be considered necessary, that the candidate character and antecedents is suitable in all respects for appointment to the service.

3) Concessions & Relaxations:

a.

The maximum age limit prescribed for the appointment does not apply to a candidate belonging to a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyars) or Scheduled Tribe or to any of the Most Backward Classes/ Denotified Communities or Backward Classes (other than Muslim) or Backward Class (Muslim).

b.

The age limit prescribed shall be increased by five years in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyars) or Scheduled Tribes and two years in respect of candidates belonging to Most Backward Classes/ Denotified Communities, Backward Classes (other than Muslim) or Backward Classes (Muslim).

c.

Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules or in the special rules for the various State and Subordinate Services, a Differently Abled Person shall be eligible for an age concession upto ten years over and above the age limits prescribed for the appointment to post by direct recruitment only, provided the applicant is otherwise fully suitable and the disability is not such as would render his incapable of efficiently discharging the duties of the post for which the candidate is selected.

d.

The upper age for Ex-Servicemen will be the length of service in armed forces plus 03 years.

4) Payment of application fee (including postage charges) (non-refundable):

a.

Unreserved & other candidates are required to pay a Non-refundable fee of Rs.300/-and SC/ST are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs.50/-(for processing & postage charge) in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of M/s Chennai Metro Rail Limited, payable at Chennai. Candidates should clearly mention their name, post code and mobile number at the back of the Demand Draft. No application fee for Differently Abled persons. Only disability certificate to be attached along with the application.

b.

Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates are therefore requested to verify their eligibility, time limit before paying the application fee.

c.

Application form forwarded without prescribed format and Demand Draft will be summarily rejected.

5. General Conditions:

a.

Only Indian Nationals need apply.

b.

Age, Qualification & experience stipulated above should be as on 30-05-2018. The candidates are advised to ensure while applying that they fulfill the eligibility criteria and other requirements mentioned and that the particulars furnished by them are correct in all aspects. In case, if it is detected at any stage of recruitment process that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria and / or does not comply with other requirements of this advertisement and / or the candidate has furnished any incorrect or false information or has suppressed any material fact, the candidature is liable to be rejected. If any of the above short comings is / are detected even after appointment, the services will be terminated without any notice.

c.

The contract period is initially for a period of 2 years and the same will be extended only if requirement exists on mutually agreed terms subject to the performance of the candidates. The engagement on contract will not entail anyone to claim for any regular employment in CMRL.

d.

In order to regulate the number of candidates to be called for the interview, if so required, the Management reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standards/criteria, or to relax the minimum eligibility standards/criteria including age limit depending upon the response to the advertised posts.

e.

Merely meeting the above qualifications and experience shall not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. Only short-listed candidates will be notified for interview. CMRL reserves the right to shortlist the candidates. Acceptance or rejection of application of the candidates will be at the sole discretion of Management.

f.

Depending on the requirements, the CMRL reserves the right to cancel / curtail / increase the number of vacancies without any further notice and without assigning any reason thereof.

g.

No TA/DA will be paid by CMRL to the candidates for attending the interview.

h.

CMRL reserves the right to withdraw advertised posts at any time without assigning any reason and also reserves the right to fill (either in the same position or downgraded position) or not to fill the posts and its decision in this regard shall be final.

i.

Persons already working in PSU / Government organization should produce NOC at the time of interview.

j.

Incomplete application or without relevant supporting enclosures (self-attested copies of degree/mark sheet/experience certificate) will be out rightly rejected.

k.

Candidates attempting to influence or interfere with the selection process will be rejected summarily and be declared disqualified for future CMRL recruitments.
