National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) has been set up under the National Health Mission (NHM) as an autonomous registered society, to channelize technical assistance and capacity building support to the states for strengthening the public health system. The NHSRC is also mandated to contribute towards National strategic health planning and programme design.

Working with a trans disciplinary team, you can discover, adapt, co-create and disseminate solutions to multiple challenges related to service delivery systems, universal primary health care, human resources for health, community processes, health financing, quality of care, public health planning and health promotion. NHSRC intends to engage Short term Consultant Public Health Administration to work under Advisor, PHA purely on contractual basis. The place of posting is in Varanasi.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Provide technical and handholding support to Varanasi for Model Health Districts (MHD) initiative.

Help the district to implement Maternal Death Review (MDR) & Child Death Review (CDR), District Hospital Strengthening, Grievance Redressal & Health Help line (GR & HL), IPHS, Supportive Supervision (SS) etc.

Undertake periodic monitoring visits to review implementation progress in district, prepare

reports and do follow up on implementation of recommendations in the district. Regular follow up of action plan of BHU MCH wing. Facilitate preparation of District Health Action Plan.

Analyze and utilize data and observations from field visits, HMIS and other data sources, to address bottlenecks in implementation. Support the district officials in further improving the technical protocols for critical areas like OT, LR, OPD, IPD, and Emergency Department of District level hospitals (4) at Varanasi. Undertake any other assignments of PHA division as and when entrusted by Advisor.

Qualifications & Experience:

i) Essential:

Post-graduation or higher qualification in public health, community health, preventive & social medicine, healthcare/hospital management

At least 1 years of post PG work experience especially in core public health domains like maternal and child health/ NRHM/ NHPs/ RMNCH+A/ health planning/ Health policy and advocacy/ Public Health system strengthening or Health Care Management

Demonstrated experience in operations of health programs at field level; working in strengthening of district, block level health systems Computer proficiency with high level of familiarity with commonly used packages like MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Vibrant, dynamic and highly motivated with a sense of initiative and ownership, and ready to take any responsibility assigned as a part of the team. Ability to produce high quality written work, with great attention to detail, within tight deadlines Passionate about working on health systems issues, particularly for the poor and vulnerable population Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment

ii) Desirable:

Preference will be given to those who had worked in aspirational districts, model districts or

high priority districts. Research experience on relevant areas of public health Published work in the area of health systems or public health

Age Limit: 40 years & below. (As on last date of application)

Location: Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh with Willingness to travel on need basis

Contract Tenure: Three months, further extendable subject to performance of candidate and requirement of division

Remuneration Range: Between Rs. 40,000/-to 60,000/-per month
