Duration of Position

Initially for one year and extendable for one more year or till completion of project whichever is earlier. The fellowship/stipend is tenable for the duration of the project on satisfactory performance. The Principal Investigator (PI) and Institute reserves the right to terminate the engagement of the Research Associate or Junior Research Fellow earlier, if the performance is not satisfactory.

Qualifications

For Research Associate (RA):

Essential: Candidate should have B.Tech./B.E. in Mining Engineering with M.Tech. in Mining Engineering/ Mine Planning & Design/ Rock Excavation Engineering/ Tunnelling & Underground Space Technology/ Rock Mechanics or B.Tech./B.E. in Civil Engineering with M.Tech. in Tunnelling & Underground Space Technology/ Rock Mechanics or B.Tech/BE in Mechanical Engineering with M.Tech in Machine Design/ Manufacturing Engg./ Production Engg. with minimum 60% marks or 6 CGPA on a 10-point scale. Candidates should also have a Ph.D. or 3 years of research/design and development experience.

Desirable: Candidates with NET/GATE qualification and prior experience in the relevant research such as CAD/CAM/CAE, Modelling/Simulation capability in Ansys/Abaqus/LS Dyna etc are preferred.

For Junior Research Fellow (JRF):

Essential: Candidate should have B.Tech./B.E. in Mining Engineering or B.Tech./B.E. in Civil Engineering or B.Tech./BE in Mechanical Engineering or M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech. in Applied Geology with minimum 60% marks or 6 CGPA on a 10 point scale.

Desirable: Candidates with above-mentioned qualification with M.Tech. in Mining Engineering/ Mine Planning & Design/ Rock Excavation Engineering/ Tunnelling & Underground Space Technology/ Rock Mechanics/ Machine Design/ Manufacturing Engg./ Production Engg. with minimum 60% marks or 6 CGPA on a 10-point scale are preferred. Age

The upper age limit is 30 years as on the date of interview i.e. 10.03.2017 (Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates as per GOI rules)

Fellowship/ Stipend

• Research Associate (RA): Rs. 36,000/-p.m. (consolidated)

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Rs. 25,000/-p.m. (consolidated)

Nature of position

The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. No claim shall be entertained.

Date of Walk- in-interview

Interested candidates may appear for a walk-in-interview on 10/03/2017 at 09:00 AM in the Department of Mining Engineering, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
