Sub: Filling up of nine (9) position(s) for engagement as Project Assistant (Cat. II & III) Under sponsored projects taken up in the Lab

Applications are invited on plain paper for filling up of nine (9) position(s) of Project Assistants (Cat II and III) purely on temporary basis in the prescribed Performa The details of the Sponsored Project under which engagement is proposed to be made is as under:

Title of the Project :	MM - Catalysis for Sustainable Development (CSD)
Minimum prescribed educational Qualifications	PA-II: M.Sc. Chemistry/ Physics or B.E/ B.Tech or M.E/ M.Tech Chemical Engineering/ Technology with minimum 55% marks/ Grade equivalent to 55% marks PA-III: M.Sc. Chemistry or B.E./ B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech Chemical Engineering/ Technology with minimum 55% marks with 2 Years of minimum experience
Desirable experience, if any	PA-II : Exposure to computational physics/ chemistry, quantum chemistry, basic mathematical methods, e.g. calculus, computer programming, usage of UNIX/Linux operating system for one (1) position PA-II : Exposure to chemistry with catalyst synthesis membrane separation reactor design and characterization techniques for five (5) positions PA-III: minimum 24 months experience in the field of process development-scale up and process intensification for three (3) position

Job requirement	Application of Density Functional Theory and other computational methods to investigate reaction mechanism of various dehydration reactions for PA-II Catalyst synthesis, characterization, reactor design with various simulation techniques and membrane design and separation techniques for PA-II Design and development a catalytic process for the synthesis of glycerol carbonate at pilot scale. Preparation of material, energy balance as well as development of PFD, design of reactors, mathematical modeling, kinetic studies for PA-III
Consolidated emoluments/month	PA-II : Rs. 25,000/- (Consolidated) PA-III: Rs. 28,000/- (Consolidated)

* Age limit as shown above is relaxable by 5 years for statutory groups and women.

The engagement will be initially for a period of six months which may be extended or curtailed depending on the duration of the tenure of sponsored project/ satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee, as the case may be. The engagement will be purely on temporary basis and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, temporary or otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any right/claim whatsoever, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any CSIR/NCL post/fellowship.

The prescribed educational qualifications are a bare minimum and merely possessing of same will not entitle candidates to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to this Notice of engagement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates. Based on the recommendation of the Screening Committee, the Project Leader may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to reasonable limits after taking into consideration qualifications and experience over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed in the Notice. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.

The candidates short listed by the Screening Committee for being called for interview would be notified on the Divisional Notice Board on 07/06/2018 (07th June 2018) before 3 pm or on the NCL website or candidates may ascertain the information by contacting the following telephone No.: (Name: T. The short listed candidates will be required to appear for an interview before the Selection Committee in Catalysis division, Ground floor, room No. 152 of the Laboratory at 10 a.m. on 11/06/2018 (11th June 2018). No interview call letter will be issued separately.

No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview. Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer of engagement.
