Applications are invited from qualified Scheduled Tribe candidates of Kerala State for selection to the following post. Applications must be submitted online through the official website of the Commission after One Time Registration. Candidates who have already registered can apply through their profile. The photo uploaded through One Time Registration should be the one taken after 31.12.2010 and also bear the name of candidate and the date of photo taken should be recorded in the bottom of the photograph. The uploadedphotowill behaving a validity often years from thedateofphotograph taken.

Note:The above Vacancies are now in existence. The Ranked list of the selected candidates published by the Commission shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of three years provided that the said list will not continue to be in force if a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year is published. Recruitment will be made for the above vacancies and also for the vacancies reported for Special Recruitment from Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe during the pendency of the list. 5 Method of Appointment : Direct Recruitment (Special Recruitment from among ScheduledTribes only).

6 Age : 2036 Only Candidates born between 02.01.1981 and 01.01.1997 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. (Noother agerelaxation will beallowed.)
7 Qualifications:
1 (a) Essential: Graduation in Science from a recognized University preferably in Chemistry.
Note: KS& SSRPart IIRule 10 (a)iiis applicable.
(b) Preferential:A good record in Sports or Games.
Note: (i) Only International, National, Interzonal, Interstate or State sporting events organised or recognized by any of the organizations listed in AppendixVII ofthe Kerala Service Rules shallbe accepted for this purpose.
(ii)Preferential qualification mentioned above shallcome within the meaning ofG.O (Ms)50/70/PD dated 12.2.1970.

He is physically fit for the post of Station Officer in the Fire and Rescue Services and has good physique and fitness and has the capacity to do rough outdoor work.

Note: Details regarding standards of vision should be clearly stated in the Certificate as given above and vague statement such as Vision Normal/good will not be accepted. Specification for each eye should be stated separately. If the specifications are not as indicated above, the officer issuing the Certificate should certify whether the candidate has got better standards of vision or worse standards of vision as the case may be, otherwise the Certificate will not be accepted.
(4) Physical Efficiency Test
Candidates must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 items in the physical efficiency test showing the minimum standards of efficiency as noted below.

Conditions of Service:
- Bond:-A person appointed by direct recruitment to the post of Station Officer shall execute a bond as given in Annexure IV, binding himself to serve in the department for a period of 7 years specified in column (2) vide G.O (P) No 99/88/Home dated 17.8.1988, and shall pay to Government a sum of Rs 8000/-in case he fails to serve in the department for the said period.
- Probation:-Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. He shall within the prescribed period of probation, pass the following test if he has not already passed them namely:
- (i)
- The department test in the Kerala Fire Force Standing Orders and Practice.
- (ii)
- St.John's Ambulance Examination in First Aid.
(iii) Account Test (Lower)
10. Training:
- (i)
- Course of initial training for the prescribed period in the State Fire Service Training School/National Fire Service College, Nagpur or any other recognized Fire Service Institution and a pass in the examination in the subjects prescribed for the course, if not already undergone such training and passed the examination
- (ii)
- After the above course, training for an actual period of six months on duty with a fully trained Assistant Divisional Officer/Station Officer before independent posting
to station.
11 Modeof Submitting application:

Candidates must click on the 'Apply Now' button of the respective posts in the Notification Link to apply for a post. No application fee is required. Candidates shall take a printout of the application by clicking the link Registration Card in their profile. Candidates are responsible for the correctness of the personal information and secrecy of password. Before the final submission of the application on the profile candidates must ensure correctness of the information on their profile. They must quote the UserID for further communication with the Commission. Application submitted is provisional and cannot be deleted or altered after submission. The application will be summarily rejected if noncompliance with the notification is found in due course of processing. 14 Appointment are made subject to the rank secured in the ranked list of candidates prepared in pursuance of this notification subject to the conditions laid down in G.O. (MS) No.142/72/PD dated 13.04.1972, G.O.(MS) No. 309/73/PD dated 29.11.1973, G.O.
(P) No. 21/76/PD dated, 17.01.1976 and G.O.(P) No.25/94/GAD dated, 22.01.1994 allowing special reservations to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in accordance with the procedures made for this purpose from time to time and subject to the rules under sections 3(c), 17(a), 17(b) of Part II of Kerala State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1958.
15 If a written/OMR/Online Test is conducted as part of the selection, Admission Ticket for eligible candidates will be made available in their Profile for One Time Registration and the date of downloading will be included in the Examination Calender. Candidates can download Admission Ticket for 15 days from this date. Candidates who have downloaded the Admission Ticket will alone be permitted to attendtheexamination.
