Online Applications are invited from Indian nationals for Temporary Faculty/ Temporary

Faculty (Part time) positions in various departments of NIT, Tiruchirappalli.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS AND OTHER INFORMATION

1. Temporary faculty is expected to assist the institute for the academic transformation in respect of Teaching UG/PG Courses, curriculum development, delivery and evaluation. They have to be academically strong in their respective areas and communicate effectively to the students.

2. Qualifications: (i) For all Disciplines in general: UG, PG and Ph.D. should be in the respective disciplines of Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Humanities and Management Studies.

(ii) For the Discipline of Engineering/Technology/Architecture: First class both at UG and PG level (60% or 6.5/10 CGPA) from the recognized University/ Institute and Ph.D. is desirable.

(iii) For the Discipline of Science/ Humanities/Computer Applications/ Management Studies: First class both at UG and PG level (60% or 6.5/ 10 CGPA) from the recognized University/ Institute and Ph.D. in the respective discipline.

(iv) For the Discipline of Science/Humanities/Computer Applications/ Management Studies:

If candidates with Ph.D. are not available, candidates with First Class M.Phil. for the discipline of Science/Humanities/Computer related topics/Management studies in addition to First Class in UG & PG level will be considered for Temporary Faculty (Part Time) position.

3. Consolidated Remuneration:

(a) For those with Ph.D. - Rs 50,000/- per month

(b) For those with PG Degree (M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent) - Rs 40,000/- per month

(c) For those without Ph.D. in Science/Humanities/Computer Applications/

Management Studies - Rs. 25,000/- per month as Temporary Faculty (Part Time).

4. Consolidated remuneration fixed at the time of joining will not be changed during the period of appointment.

5. No other allowances are admissible.

6. Nature of appointment: The appointment is purely temporary for one semester and extendable further depending on the performance as per Government/Institute Norms.

7. The shortlisted candidates will be called for written test. This will be followed by interview for candidates shortlisted in the written test.

8. The date for written test and interview will be intimated in the institute website. On completion of filling /uploading of the on-line application form and submission, download a copy of the application form, sign it and enclose the Self-Attested photo-copies of the certificates/testimonials/research papers etc., along with Annexures II & III and send to Registrar, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli 620 015, Tamil Nadu, by Speed/Registered post so as to reach on or before 02.07.2018 superscribed as APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF TEMPORARY FACULTY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF_____________.

9. Reservation Policy of Government of India will be applicable in the recruitment of purely Temporary Faculty. For Persons with Disability (PwD), the travel reimbursement (II class Train/Bus fare) is permissible.

10. If applicable, the candidates are required to enclose their Community Certificate in the prescribed format.

11. The selected candidates will be required to join immediately.

12. Canvassing in any form will render a candidate ineligible.

13. Educational Qualification & Specialization, Evaluation Report and Check List are provided in Annexure I, Annexure II and Annexure III respectively.

14. Institute reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process of temporary faculty in partial or full without assigning any reasons whatsoever.

15. This post does not confer any right on the applicant to claim either continuous employment or permanency in future.

16. Incomplete applications/ Applications not in the prescribed format will be rejected without intimation.

17. No interim correspondence will be entertained.

18. The Institute reserves the right to shortlist the number of candidates depending upon the number of applications received or the qualifications of the applicants. No separate intimation will be made to the candidates who are not shortlisted. The decision of the Selection Committee is final.

19. The applicants are requested to view the website of the Institute daily for any updated information regarding the recruitment process. List of candidates shortlisted for test/interview will be uploaded in the Institute Website.

20. Submission of hard copy is must for considering the applications. NIT, Tiruchirappalli will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss of application during transit.

21. The number of vacancies indicated in the advertisement is tentative and subject to change. Institute reserves the right to change the number of positions based on the requirement.

23. Candidates who have served as Temporary Faculty /Temporary Teaching Positions in NIT- Trichy, for more than 5 semesters need not apply and their applications will not be considered.
