Faculty positions at Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam

Applications from eligible Indian Nationals with outstanding academic achievements, ability to establish a vibrant research programme, and with a passion for teaching are invited for various faculty positions of the Institute, on deputation terms & conditions under the Government of India.

1. Professor in Computer Science (On Deputation)

a.

Should have a PhD with First Class at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with consistently very good academic record throughout.

b.

A minimum of 10 years of experience after PhD or 13 years (not counting PhD enrolment period) out of which 07 years are to be after PhD; Atleast three years to be at the level of Associate Professor in any of Indian or foreign Institutions of comparable standards as may be so decided by the Institute.

Additional Desirable requirements

One or more Patents, supervised more than three students for PhD. Preparing E-learning material, at least one self-financed short term course offered every year. Strong liaison with industry, offering significant support to Institute management. High value sponsored or consultancy projects

2. Associate Professor in Computer Science/Electronics(On deputation)

a.

Should have a PhD with First Class at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with consistently very good academic record throughout.

b.

A minimum of six years after PhD or 09 years total (not counting Ph.D enrolment period), out of which 03 years should be after PhD. Three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor with AGP of 8000/-or equivalent in any Indian or foreign Institutions of comparable standards as may be so decided by the Institute.

Additional Desirable requirements

One or more Patents, supervising two or more students for PhD. Strong liaison with industry, offering courses through application of ICT.

Pay Structure ( based on 6th Pay commission)

General Information

1. 2. Merely fulfilling the requirements laid down in the advertisement will not automatically entitle any candidate to be called for interview.
   
   
3. The Institute will shortlist the eligible candidates. No interim enquiries /correspondence / communication of any sort will be entertained in the matter.
   
   
4. Duly appointed committees of experts will shortlist the candidates for interview. Shortlisted candidates will be required to give a seminar prior to the interview.
   
   
5. In addition to the pay and allowances benefits like leave, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Reimbursement etc will be available as admissible to Central Government employees.
