INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF SCIENCES Faculty of Mathematics
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for five posts (Full-time/Part-time, contractual) of consultants in the Discipline of Mathematics, one in each of the following areas:
- Image Processing and Pattern Recognition
- Computer Graphics
- Design and Analysis of Algorithms
- Coding Theory
- Graph Theory
The post of consultants are in School of Sciences, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110 068. These positions are initially for a period of six months extendable further as per requirement of the University. Remuneration and educational qualifications for the posts are as given below:

M.Tech in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or Ph.D. in Mathematics/ Computer Science (with specialization in area concerned) 2. Minimum three years experience of research/teaching/industry in the area concerned |
Desirable qualifications for each of the areas 1) to 5) above are given below:
| 1) | Image Processing and Pattern Recognition: Knowledge of Sci-Lab with Image Processing Toolbox |
| 2) | Computer Graphics: Proficiency in OpenGL programming using C |
| 3) | Design and Analysis of Algorithms: Good understanding of Mathematics related to Graph Theoretical |
| algorithms. | |
| 4) | Coding Theory: Good understanding of Algebraic Coding Theory in the case of M.Tech Candidates and |
| experience in implementing algorithms of Coding Theory in C language. | |
| 5) | Graph Theory: Programming experience in Graph Theoretic Algorithms |
Job Profile: The nature of work would involve activities pertaining to development of course material in Mathematics discipline offered by the University. The job would include writing/transferring units and other material related to the course concerned.
