Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) is an autonomous body established under section 12(ccc) of the UGC Act, 1956. IUCAA was established in 1988 with the objective of promoting nucleation and growth of active research in the areas of astronomy and astrophysics at Indian universities. UGC invites applications for the post of Director, IUCAA, Pune, as per the details given under.

i	Eligibility and Tenure	-The Director of the IUCAA, Pune shall be an eminent scientist with ten years of experience in the grade of professor or equivalent in the relevant field. -The term of appointment will be for five years or till the Director attains the age of sixty-five years, whichever is earlier. -The candidate should preferably be not more than 60 years of age.
Ii	Nature of the assignment	-The Director will be executive authority of the Centre and shall have all powers needed for the administration of the Centre and shall be responsible for proper administration and funds of the Centre. -He/She will provide academic leadership to IUCAA.
iii	Emoluments	-The emoluments will be the same as those of the Vice-Chancellors
