Manager- Communication

IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (a section 8 company) invites applications for the position of Manager-Communication. IIM Calcutta Innovation Park is an incubator which encourages social and other entrepreneurs to avail the incubation facilities that include physical space, mentorship, funding etc. The goal of the Park is to nurture start-ups, help them develop business plans, raise private capital, commercialize new technologies/processes and strengthen the regional and national entrepreneurship ecosystem. The position of Manager-Communication involves a range of duties including managing all the communication efforts of the organization with all its stakeholders, in order to support and strengthen the marketing, branding and relationship development requirements of IIMCIP (IIM Calcutta Innovation Park).

Requisite & Desirable Skills & Capabilities:

Knowledge and expertise in planning, implementation, coordination and monitoring of Communication Management at an organizational level is an essential requisite.
Good command and capability in written communication (mainly English), including creation of ongoing online content (website and social media), regular marketing material (brochures, posters, mailers, presentations, documents, press releases, etc.) and other strategic and tactical communication is also required.
Proven knowledge & capability in working with computers (including comfort with basic tools like Word, PowerPoint & Excel) and in the digital and social media platforms would also be essential.
Creative flair and an ability to quickly conceptualize, ideate and articulate are preferred traits.
Understanding and exposure to marketing fundamentals would be desirable.
Other creative abilities in developing communication material (e.g. working knowledge of creative software tools like PhotoShop / Coreldraw, Illustrator and Video Editing tools) would be desirable, though not essential.
Other desirable traits include - independent handling of responsibilities with minimal supervision, good interpersonal & communication skills to be able to work in teams and deal with external partners, entrepreneurial mindset to help get things done in a small and fast evolving organization, self-driven results-oriented mindset, etc.

Qualification and Experience: Graduates / Post Graduates, preferably in English, Journalism, Mass Communication or Social Sciences with a good academic record from reputed educational institutions. Four or more years of relevant experience would be preferred.

Compensation: Commensurate with the qualification and experience of the candidate. Other benefits like mobile expenses reimbursement and medical insurance will be as per institutes policy.

Location: Kolkata

Tenure: It is a contractual position for an initial period of two years and renewable thereafter subject to performance and institutes requirement

HEAD- Portfolio Management

IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP) invites applications for the position of Head Portfolio Management. IIMCIP, a not-for-profit (section 8) company, aims at promoting entrepreneurship and innovation through creation of a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem and helps innovative ideas transform into successful business ventures. Social Entrepreneurship is a focus area for IIMCIP and the incubation support offered to startups include workspace, mentorship and funding and market connect.

The position of Head Portfolio Management, involves a range of duties including managing the portfolio of incubated ventures, making the incubates investible, creating partnerships with different stakeholders in the Innovation park ecosystem, managing programs focused on sourcing good quality startups, engaging early stage entrepreneurs, building relationship with mentor pool, monitoring progress of startups. The goal is to incubate 100 startups by 2020 and make them fundable or self sustainable ventures.

Requisite & Desirable Skills & Capabilities:

Knowledge and experience in managing large programs is essential. It includes planning, execution, monitoring and control
Must have good understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem
Work experience with startup or experience in supporting early stage ventures
Work experience in managing portfolio of startups or investments preferred
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop partnerships with key stakeholders in the entrepreneurship ecosystem is desirable
Work experience with incubators / accelerators will be preferred
Good command and capability in written communication (mainly English) with good presentation skills is essential
Other desirable traits include - independent handling of responsibilities with minimal supervision, good interpersonal skills, to be able to work in teams and deal with external partners, entrepreneurial mindset to help get things done in a small and fast evolving organization, self-driven results-oriented mindset

Qualification and Experience: Graduate / Post Graduate from a top tier institute, with minimum 7 years work experience and with a good overall academic record from reputed educational institutions. CA/MBA would be preferred.
