Research associate - Quantitative methods and public policy

A research associate (RA) position is available from July 2018 at IIM Ahmedabad for a project on safe driving behavior and logistics. Responsibilities of the research associate include carrying out data analysis using large data sets and secondary research.

The RA will initially be employed for a period of six months. Extension beyond six months may be possible depending on the RAs performance, at the discretion of the faculty supervisors. The RA will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, and may be required to travel within India. The RA will be paid a consolidated monthly gross salary of INR 30,000 (non-negotiable). Other employment benefits (if any) will be determined by institute policies.

Applicants for the position must have, at least, a four-year engineering (B.E./B.Tech, or equivalent) degree from a reputed institution with experience in conducting large-scale data analysis, OR a masters degree from a reputed institution (with or without work experience) in economics, statistics, quantitative social sciences, or a related subject. The candidate must have strong quantitative analysis skills, sound knowledge of econometric methods, and expertise in data analysis using R/Stata. Experience of working with a GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS/QGIS) is a plus.
