MINIUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT OF TEACHERS IN COLLEGES, AS PER UGC REGULATIONS

PRINCIPAL

i) A Masters Degree with at least 55% of the marks or a relevant grade regarded as equivalent to 55% wherever grading system is followed by a recognized University.

ii) Ph.D. qualification in concerned/allied/relevant discipline with evidence of published work and research guidance.

iii) Associate Professor/Professor with a total experience of 15 years of teaching/research/administration in Universities/College and other institutions of higher education.

iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on Performance Based Appraisal system (PBAS) for Professors as developed by UGC in Regulations. (4^th amendment) Dated.11 July,2016.

v) A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders. Who have passed their Masters degree prior to 19^th September, 1991.

vi) The Appointment of the Principal shall be for the period of FIVE year only for date of appointment.

vii) The term of appointment of the college Principal shall be FIVE year with eligibility for appointment for one more term only after a similar selection committee process which shall take into account as external peer review and its recommendations and its outcomes. The framework of the external peer review shall be specified by the UGC.
