2.0.0 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSTS IN THE SCHOOLS OF MATHEMATICS & STATISTICS, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, LIFE SCIENCES, CENTRE FOR HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY, ECONOMICS, SOCIAL SCIENCES, HUMANITIES ARE AS FOLLOWS: (ACCORDING TO CLAUSE 4.0.0 OF THE UGC REGULATIONS 2010 AND UGC (4th AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2016.
PROFESSOR
- i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/ allied/relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
- ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in University/College, and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/ industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.
- iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process.
- iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in UGC (4th Amendment) Regulations, 2016
OR
An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to substantiated by credentials.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
- i) Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
- ii) A Masters Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed)
- iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers
- iv) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching/learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
- v) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in UGC (4th Amendment) Regulations, 2016.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
- i) Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
- iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (1) and (2) above, candidates who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in the following manner are exempted from having NET:
- iv) Provided further, the award of degree to candidates registered for the M.Phil./Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bylaws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions.
- a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only
- b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners
- c) Open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted
- d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a referred journal
- e) Candidate has made at least two presentations in conferences/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D. work.
- (a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Dean (Academic Affairs)/Dean (University instructions)
- v) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
2.0.1 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS ACCORDING TO UGC REGULATIONS 2010 FOR POSTS IN THE SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING SCIENCES & TECHNOLOGY (Clause 4.7 to be read with Clauses 3.0.0./4.4.6.1 and 1.1.1 OF THE UGC 2010/AICTE 2012 REGULATIONS)
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR :
- i) B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Ceramic Engineering or related areas with First Class or equivalent at both levels. Related areas will be determined as per the Gazette notification of AICTE dated 28/4/2017 on Major/Core Branch of Engineering/Technology and their relevant/appropriate courses leading to degree in Engineering/Technology for recruitment to teaching positions F.No. 27/RIFD/Pay/01/201718.
- ii) Ph.D. in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Ceramic Engineering or related areas. Related areas will be determined as per the Gazette notification of AICTE dated 28/4/2017 on Major/Core Branch of Engineering/Technology and their relevant/appropriate courses leading to degree in Engineering/Technology for recruitment to teaching positions F. No. 27/RIFD/Pay/01/201718.
OR
- iii) M.E./M.Tech. in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Ceramic Engineering or related areas, with first class and Ph.D. in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Ceramic Engineering or related areas. Related areas will be determined as per the Gazette notification of AICTE dated 28/4/2017 on Major/Core Branch of Engineering/Technology and their relevant/appropriate courses leading to degree in Engineering/Technology for recruitment to teaching positions F. No. 27/RIFD/Pay/01/201718.
- iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the UGC (4th Amendment) Regulations 2016.
- v) PhD guidance as evidenced by the award of degree to atleast one student or submission of thesis by atleast one student (proof to be provided at the time of application).
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:
B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Ceramic Engineering or related areas with First Class or equivalent at both levels. Related areas will be determined as per the Gazette notification of AICTE dated 28/4/2017 on Major/Core Branch of Engineering/ Technology and their relevant/appropriate 2 courses leading to degree in Engineering/Technology for recruitment to teaching positions F.No. 27/RIFD/Pay/01/201718.
Desirable:
- 1) Ph.D. in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Ceramic Engineering or related areas. Related areas will be determined as per the Gazette notification of AICTE dated 28/4/2017 relating to Major/ Core Branch of Engineering/Technology and their relevant/appropriate courses leading to degree in Engineering/Technology for recruitment to teaching positions F. - 2) Candidates should have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree as per the Gazette notification dated 5/5/2016 of the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.PHIL./PH.D Degrees) Regulations, 2016.
2.0.2 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION (According to clause 4.7 to be read with clauses 4.1.0, 4.3.0, 4.4.1 AND 1.1.1 OF THE UGC REGULATIONS 2010/ NCTE REGULATIONS 2012 AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME).
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:
- i) Postgraduate degree with minimum 55% marks in the discipline relevant to the area of specialization
- ii) Postgraduate degree in Education (M.Ed./M.A Education with 55% marks)
- iii) Ph.D. Degree in Education or in the discipline relevant to the area of specialization.
- iv) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University/College or accredited research Institution excluding the period of Ph.D research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
- v) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses and technology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
- vi) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) set out in this regulation in Appendix III.
2.0.3 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR MANAGEMENT STUDIES (ACCORDING TO CLAUSE 4.4.5 OF THE UGC REGULATIONS 2010 AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME)
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:
- i) Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Masters Degree in Business Management/Administration/in a relevant management related discipline or first class in two years full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/recognized by the AICTE/UGC;
OR
First Class graduate and professionally qualified Charted Accountant/Cost and works Accountant/Company Secretary of the concerned statutory body.
- ii) Ph.D. or Fellow of Indian Institute of Management or of an Institute recognized by AICTE and declared equivalent by the AIU.
- iii) A minimum of eight years experience of teaching/industry/research/ professional at managerial level excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degree.
OR
- iv) In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following requirements shall constitute as essential requirements:
- 1. Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Masters Degree in Business Management/Administration/in a relevant management-related discipline or first class in two years full-time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/recognized by AICTE/UGC.
OR
- 2. A minimum of ten years experience of teaching industry/research/ profession, out of which five years must be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent excluding the period spent for obtaining research degree. The candidate should have professional work experience, which is significant and can be recognized at national/international level as equivalent to Ph.D. and ten years managerial experience in industry/profession of which at least five years should be at the level comparable to that of Lecturer/Assistant Professor.
- v) Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable:
- a) Teaching, research industrial and/or professional experience in a reputed organization;
- b) Published work, such as research papers, patents filed/obtained, books and /or technical reports; and
- c) Experience of guiding the project work/dissertation of PG/Research Students or supervising R&D projects in industry.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
- i) Essential:
- 1) First Class Masters Degree in Business Management/Administration in a relevant management related discipline or first class in two year full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/accredited by the AICTE/UGC;
OR
- 2) First Class graduate and professionally qualified Charted Accountant /Cost and Works Accountant/Company Secretary of the concerned statutory bodies.
- ii) Desirable:
- 1) Teaching, research, industrial and/or professional experience in a reputed organization;
- 2) Papers presented at Conferences and/or published in refereed journals.
Good Academic Record: Under the term 'good academic record' the candidate must have obtained an average of 50% marks and above in graduation. A relaxation of 5% is provided at the Graduate and Master's level for the SC/ST/PwD and OBC categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record. |

Separate application along with a separate Registration fee must be submitted if a candidate wants to apply for more than one post. Mode of Payment within India: Registration fee (Non-refundable): Rs. 1,000/- for candidates under General, OBC and TG (Third Gender)' categories and Rs.300/- for candidates under SC/ST/PwD category (whether the post is reserved for these categories or not). Applicants within India may transfer the required amount of fee through online link provided in the application

Finally, after attending to the requirements as mentioned at 2.1.0 to 2.6.0 above, send the application through courier/post [please write on the top left side of the cover the name of the post with subject and specialization (if any), SC/ST/OBC/PwD/General, etc.] to the Assistant Registrar (Recruitment Cell), Room No. 221, First Floor, Administration Building, University of Hyderabad, Professor C.R. Rao Road, Central University P.O., Gachibowli, Hyderabad- 500 046, Telangana, India, on or before 31-03-2018 by 5.00 pm. Hard copies of the filled-in applications will not be accepted in person.
NOTE: In case the applicant is in service and delay is expected in getting the endorsement of the employer concerned on the original application and in sending it to the University, the applicant may submit an Advance Copy of the application, with all enclosures, directly to the University. If the original application through the proper channel has not been received by the University by the last date mentioned in the employment notification, the candidate/applicant will have to submit a 'NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE' from his/her employer to the University at the time of interview, if he/she is called for it. |

Applicants are advised to submit the applications to the University well in advance, without waiting till the last date, to avoid postal delay or any other unforeseen problems. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay at any stage. |

It will be open to the University to consider, on its own, names of suitable candidates who might not have applied. Candidate shall not claim it as a right. |
|
The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possessing them will not entitle him/her for being called for interview. The University reserves the right to restrict the candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number on the basis of qualifications and/or experience higher than the minimum prescribed. Call letters to attend interview will be sent only to the short-listed candidates by Email or SMS or Speed Post or Registered Post or Courier. No correspondence will be made with applicants who are not short-listed/called for interview. |

a) Reservation for SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates exists according to the Rosters being maintained by the University for various posts in accordance with the guidelines of the UGC. Candidates applying for the reserved posts should clearly state the category they belong to. They must also enclose a Certificate issued by Tahsildar / Mandal Revenue Officer/ Equivalent Authority as proof to this effect, without which the application will not be considered. b) In case a candidate wants to claim benefits under the Persons with Disability category, the candidates relevant disability should be not less than 40 per cent. Proof to this effect in the form of a valid Disability Certificate must be enclosed to the application, without which the application will be treated as 'general (unreserved)'. c) Candidate applying for the post(s) reserved for O.B.C. must submit a latest attested copy of certificate of Creamy Layer-exclusion in the prescribed form issued by Competent Authority, vide Column 3 of GoI Dept. of Personnel and Training O.M. No. 36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 8th September 1993 and modified vide DoPT's O.M. No. 36033/3/2004-Estt.(Res) dated 9th March 2004, and DoPT OM No. 36033/3/2004-Estt.(Res.) dated 14th October 2008, without which applications will not be considered. If no copies of the above certificates are sent with the application, it is liable to be rejected for the reserved positions and no appeal against its rejection will be entertained. |

Canvassing in any form on behalf of any candidate will definitely disqualify such candidate. |
|
Selection will be made on the basis of candidates previous record and their performance in the interview. The University may also utilize seminar /colloquium and/or any other mode as a method of selection. |
|
The eligibility of candidates will be determined on the basis of qualifications/experience/publications, etc., acquired by them till the last date fixed for receipt of filled-in applications. |
|
Those who are joining the University service on or after 1st January 2004 are covered under New Pension Scheme. |
|
Applications incomplete in any respect will not receive any consideration at all. |
|
All disputes are subject to the Hyderabad jurisdiction. |
|
The University reserves the right not to fill-up any vacancy advertised, if the circumstances so warrant. The University also reserves the right withdraw any advertised post at any time without giving any reason therefore. |
|
In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the University shall be final. |
APPLICANTS MAY ALSO NOTE THE FOLLOWING OTHER GENERAL CONDITIONS:
- i) The recruitment will be in accordance with the UGC IV amendment regulations of July 2016 and any specific guideline issued by UGC since notification of this advertisement.
- ii) The period spent by the candidate in acquiring MPhil or PhD will not be counted as research experience.
- iii) API Score for journals may be claimed on the basis of whether papers are published in refereed journals or other reputed journals as per UGC Regulations 2016 (IV Amendment). The screening committee reserves the right not to give weightage to predatory journals as determined and decided by the Committee.
- iv) The University reserves the right to issue corrigendum to this notification and it will be published on our website only for information of all concerned.
- v) Except to the candidates shortlisted for the interview, no communication will be sent to the other applicants. The list of shortlisted and not shortlisted candidates will be placed on the University website (https://www.uohyd.ac.in ) for information of the applicants.
- vi) The University reserves the right to offer a lower post against the notified higher post to a candidate if the selection committee decides.
- vii) No communication to any section of the University will be entertained nor responded and it will be the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the application is complete in all respects together with supporting documents for the information furnished in the application at the time of scrutiny.
- viii) The applicants must be aware that their output by way of M.Phil./Ph.D./research papers are not plagiarized and in case at any time following the appointment (if selected), at any stage the University discovers that the content is plagiarized; they will be liable for termination from the service without any notice.
