1. Ph.D Degree in Zoology/Aquatic Biology/Fisheries with specialization in Aquaculture/Mariculture or Ph.D in Aquaculture/Mariculture.

2. A minimum of fifteen years of teaching experience in a

University/Research Experience in a National or International Institute in the field of Aquaculture.

3. Five years experience as Professor or equivalent cadre as per ICAR/UGC norms applicable to Chair of Eminence/ Director of Research/Dean/Professor in the UGC pay scale.

4. Record of Productive Research as indicated by published research work in international journals with high impact factor and should also have five years of experience in Research Administration/Management. Administrative experience in planning fisheries research, preparation of projects and implementation/ report writing and resource generation

5. Contract period - 1 year (Extendable up to the termination of project as per availability of funds)

Position 1: (Category No.1 (b))

Qualification:- Ph.D in Aquaculture or Mariculture with through understanding on fish breeding or MSc in Aquaculture / MFSc with specilisation in Aquculture / MSC in Marine Biology with specialisation in Aquculture with minimum five years research experience in the field of breeding fish evidenced by minimum three publications.

Position 2: (Category No.1 (c))

Qualification:-Ph.D in Aquaculture or Mariculture with through understanding on fish of Fish culture/ hatchery management or MSc in Aquaculture / MFSc with specilisation in Aquculture / MSC in Marine Biology with specialisation in Aquculture with minimum five years research experience in the field of Fish culture/ hatchery management evidenced by minimum three publications

Qualification : Ph D in Marine Biotechnology with clear understanding in aquatic animal health / MSc in Marine Biotechnology or MFSc in Aquatic Hnimal Health with minimum five years research experience in the field of Aquatic Animal Health / Disease Diagnosis evidenced by minimum three publications.

Position 4: (Category No.1 (f))

Qualification :Ph D in Marine Biotechnology with clear understanding in aquatic animal health or MSc in Biotechnology/ Aquaculture or MFSc in Aquatic Animal Health with minimum five years research experience in the field of Aquatic Animal Health / Microbiology evidenced by minimum three publications

5. The Pandit Karuppan Chair for Policy Studies on Livelihood Security and Socio- economic Empowerment of Fisherfolk (PKC)

1. Applicants for Professor Chair should have a doctorate in a relevant discipline (economics (preferably fisheries economics) or management (Preferably fisheries management) or Social Work or Rural Development (Preferably having specialization in coastal studies).

2. At least 15 years of teaching/research/social work experience in the relevant field of specialization. Preference will be given for those who have contributions in fisheries.

3. Publications in quality refereed national and international journals. In addition, applicants should be able to demonstrate effective and innovative teaching practice at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

4. The purpose of the post is to lead the Centre to enhance the research, teaching and training activities of the centre in the field of Policy Studies on Livelihood Security, Socio-economic Empowerment of Fisherfolk and Indigenous Knowledge of Fisherfolk. The Professor Chair has to motivate and guide his team and those associating with the centre in carrying out the objectives of the Centre. Amongst others, a successful applicant is likely to assume responsibility for engaging lectures for the Students/trainers/trainees.
