Last date for submission of duly filled application form is 5th May, 2012 up to 5.45 p.m. The desired candidates are required to download the application form, available on the university website : www.nagpuruniversity.org only and the application form should not be changed in any manner. Completed application form in 11 copies should be submitted in legal size paper alongwith attested photocopies of certificates, testimonials and registration fees of Rs.500/- for Open Category and Rs.300/- for backward class categories by way of Crossed Demand Draft payable at Nagpur and drawn in favour of Registrar, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur.

Pay Band of Rs.37400-67000,
Grade Pay of Rs. 10000 For Teaching
Grade Pay of Rs. 8900 For Non-teaching
Qualifications and Experience :
i) A Master's Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the U.G.C. 7 point scale. The condition of 55% of marks at Masters level is relaxable in case of applicants who are already in the University system.
A relaxation of 5% from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Masters level is permissible for S.C/S.T. candidates.
A relaxation of 5% from 55% to 50% of the marks is permissible to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have passed their Masters Degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
ii) At least 15 years teaching experience as Lecturer (Senior scale) / Lecturer with 8 years experience in Readers Grade along with experience in educational administration.
OR
Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of Higher Education.
OR
15 years of Administrative Experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.
iii) (a) In addition to the above qualifications, the candidate shall possess the following qualification in computer operation within two years from the date of appointment, if does not possess. A Certificate in computer operation prescribed by the Director of Information Technology, Govt. of Maharashtra.
OR
Certificate of D.O.E.A.C. Societies C.C.C. or O level or A level or B level or C level or MS-CIT or GECT Certificate of Maharashtra State, Higher & Technical Education Board.
However, the qualification at (iii) (a) shall be exempted to the departmental candidates of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, who have passed the prescribed Computer Skill Test of the respective level, conducted by the University.
(b) Those who have passed the following examinations shall be treated as having passed the above prescribed computer qualification :
(i) Degree and Diploma in Computer Technology / Computer Engineering / Information Technology and; P.G. / Advance Diploma in Computer Application, ADCSSAA awarded by the Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra State.
(ii) Degree / Diploma awarded by all the Govt. recognized Universities in Computer Technology / Computer Engineering / Information Technology and P.G. / Advanced Diploma in Computer Application, Computer Application System & Analysis.
(c) The candidates from the University or from the service of Govt. of Maharashtra, who have crossed the age of 50 years shall be exempted from submitting the certificate of computer qualification.
iv) Ph.D. shall be desirable qualification.
v) Proficiency in Marathi.
Age : Unless already in the service of Universities or affiliated colleges are not less than 45 years of age. Age of Superannuation shall be 58 years. However, in the case of person coming from teaching cadre or teaching equivalent cadres, it shall be 60 years.
2) CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS
Pay Band of Rs.37400-67000,

Qualifications and Experience :

i) A Masters Degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and consistently good academic record set out in these Regulations.
ii) At least thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian in a University Library or eighteen years experience as a College Librarian.
iii) Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work.
iv) Desirable : A M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree in library science/information science/documentation/ achieves and manuscript keeping.
v) A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Masters level for the S.C/S.T. category candidates.
vi) A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have passed their Masters Degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
vii) Good knowledge of computer in general.
4) DEPUTY LIBRARIAN
[Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100 with the Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 8000/-]
Qualifications & Experience :
i) A Masters Degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and consistently good academic record.
ii) Five years experience as an Assistant University Librarian / College Librarian.
iii) Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work and professional commitment, computerization of library.
iv) Desirable : A M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree in library science/information science/documentation/achieves and manuscript keeping/computerization of library.
v) A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Masters level for the S.C/S.T. category candidates.
vi) A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have passed their Masters Degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
vii) Good knowledge of computer in general.
5) ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN
[Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100 with the Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6000/-]
Qualifications & Experience :
i) A Masters Degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation science or equivalent professional degree with at least 55% of the marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library.
ii) Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.
iii) However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of University Assistant Librarian/College Librarian
iv) A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Masters level for the S.C/S.T. category candidates.
v) A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have passed their Masters Degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
vi) Good knowledge of computer in general.
6) COLLEGE LIBRARIAN
[Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100 with the Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6000/-]
Qualifications & Experience :
i) A Masters Degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation science or equivalent professional degree with at least 55% of the marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library.
ii) Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.

7) PRINCIPAL SCIENTIFIC OFFICER
[Pay Band of Rs.37400-67000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 8900 (Rs.10000/- A.G.P. for the candidate from teaching profession)]
Qualifications & Experience
- i) Ph.D./M.E./M.Tech. in instrumentation or allied field with atleast 55% marks or equivalent grade with good academic record.
- ii) Atleast 12 years experience in reputed laboratories/industries of which atleast 5 years should be in a senior position and should also provide evidence of his/her achievements by way of high quality publications in instrumentation and / or patents related to new designs and processes in instrumentation.
- iii) Good knowledge of computer in general.
8) SENIOR SCIENTIFIC OFFICER
[Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 7600]
Qualifications & Experience
- i) Ph.D./M.E./M.Tech. in instrumentation or allied field with atleast 55% marks or equivalent grade with good academic record.
- ii) Atleast 8 years experience in reputed laboratories/industries in production/maintenance/design of instruments.
- iii) Good knowledge of computer in general.
9) SCIENTIFIC OFFICER
[Pay Band of Rs.9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400]
Qualifications & Experience
- i) M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech. in instrumentation or allied field with atleast 55% marks or equivalent grade with good academic record.
- ii) M.Phil, M.Tech. & Ph.D. in the relevant subject as desirable qualifications for recruitment to the post of Lecturer.
- iii) Minimum qualifications should not be relaxed even in respect of candidates who have degrees like M.Tech./M.Phil./Ph.D.
iv) Atleast 5 years experience in reputed laboratories/industries in production/maintenance/design of instruments.
v) Good knowledge of computer in general.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
For the Post of Registrar & Controller of Examinations
- (1) Qualifications and age shall be considered as on last date of application.
- (2) The appointment to the post of Registrar and Controller of Examinations shall be for a term of five years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for only one more term of five years.
- (3) B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O,A,B,C,D,E, & F shall be regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed as prescribed by U.G.C.

- (10) Prescribed qualifications for the above mentioned posts would be as per the norms/ Regulations of UGC formulated in consultations with AICTE and as approved by the Government of Maharashtra.
- (11) NET / SLET /SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET / SLET /SET is not conducted.
- (12) The Ph.D. Degree shall be a mandatory qualification for the appointment of University Librarian and Deputy Librarian through direct recruitment.
- (13) The period of time taken by candidates to acquire M. Phil. and/ or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as teaching / research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions.
- (14) The minimum period of probation shall be one year extendable by a maximum period of one more year in case of unsatisfactory performance.
