IIITM-K invites applications for the Post of Senior Project officer (SPO) under the project on Center for Pattern and Image Analysis (CEPIA).

Mode of Selection:

Initial selection will be as Intern, based on an interview and written test. A qualifying National Eligibility Test Score including GATE score as specified above that enables entry into the program is sufficient for making the initial application. The topics for written test will be communicated to the candidates after pre-selection screening, three weeks prior to the scheduled interview date. Upon acceptance of the offer, the candidate will work as Intern for a period of 4-6 months with a monthly stipend of Rs. 16,000. During internship, the candidate will be trained for acquiring the required technical knowledge/programming skill for embarking on the project proposal. Prior experience in MATLAB based projects is desirable but not essential. Exact duration of the internship period will be decided according to the candidates aptitude and performance level in the designated tasks of the imaging Lab. During the internship period, the candidate will be evaluated at regular intervals in the form of seminars, assignments and other professional activities. For continuation in the program, the candidate is expected to consistently score a minimum of 65% marks in each such assessment. Upon successful completion of periodical reviews and generation of a proposal

by the candidate, he/she will be enrolled into the SPO position after evaluation by an Experts Committee consisting of members drawn from industry and academia. After successful evaluation by the Committee, it is mandatory for the incumbent to sign a bond to serve the institute for three years and register for Ph.D in the next consecutive round of admission when called for (as per the institute norms). Please note that teaching experience will not be counted as additional experience for our programs. Successful candidate will be continued to take on the responsibility of Senior Project Officer with a consolidated salary of Rs. 45,000 in the first year, for a maximum period of five years from the date of formal appointment with contract renewal every year. Contingent on the candidates progress, the candidate will be eligible for 5% increment after each contract renewal. The institute reserves the right to terminate the services of the incumbent at any stage of his/her tenure, if the performance efficiency consistently shows a negative trend.
