Advertisement for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Position

Applications are invited from highly motivated and eligible candidates for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in a DST funded research project entitled, Glacio-hydrological studies in two contrasting watersheds in the Indian Himalaya at Discipline of Civil Engineering, IIT Indore. The major objective of this project is to develop glacio-hydrological research in two climatically diverse watersheds of Gangotri (Uttarakhand) and Chandra (Himachal Pradesh) basins in Indian Himalaya.

Eligibility:

Essential Qualification:

(i) Master degree in Engineering: Hydrology, Water Resources, Remote Sensing, Geosciences or equivalent branches, OR

(ii) Master degree in basic sciences: Earth Sciences, Hydrology, Environmental Science or equivalent branches with NET qualification, OR

(iii) Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a valid GATE score.

Desirable Qualification:

Candidates having experience in GIS, programming, basic mountaineering skills and some field exposure to glacio-hydrology are encouraged to apply.

Stipend:

The amount of JRF fellowship will be as per DST norms.

Duration:

Initial appointment will be for one year, which is extendable up to March 2020 (end of project) solely based on performance. Selected candidate may be considered for admission to PhD programme at IIT Indore as a regular full-time scholar, depending on the eligibility criteria at IIT Indore.
