Advertisement for the position of scientific technician in the Centre of Astronomy

Applications are invited for the post of the a scientific technician position in the Center of Astronomy, Indian Institute of Technology Indore. The candidate is expected to work in a project involving SWAN (Sky Watch Array Network) in which the members of the Centre of Astronomy are active participants. SWAN (http://www.rri.res.in/SWAN/Strategic_Initiatives.html) involves design development and use of a broadband sky watch array network across India for the purpose of searching for and studying radio transients, for conducting high angular resolution imaging of galactic and extragalactic sources at low radio frequencies and to train a new generation of radio astronomers. The candidate must have strong expertise in data handling and signal processing. Experience in astronomical instrumentation is desirable, though not essential. The search will commence immediately and continue until position is filled. Interview will be held at IIT Indore Simrol Campus, Indore-453552. Eligibility:

B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering/ Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Radio Physics and Electronics or any other relevant areas

Salary: Rs. 18,000/- per month (consolidated)

Duration: The positions are temporary. Appointment will be for 11 months subject to renewal on the basis of the candidate's performance.
