Sub: Engagement of Medical Officers on purely contractual basis in IIT (ISM), Dhanbad regarding.

The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad invites applications for engagement of Medical Officers on purely contractual basis, for one year initially and renewable on year to year basis till such time there is a felt need of their services, subject to satisfactory performance to be evaluated by the Competent Authority. The details regarding eligibility criteria, terms of references etc. are as under:

Medical Officer (purely on Contract) - 3 (Three)

Essential Qualification:

a) MBBS or equivalent degree from institutions recognised by Medical Council of India.

b) Must have completed compulsory internship.

Desirable:

a) MD degree

b) Experience in reputed hospitals

Age limit:

Below 65 years of age. Retired Doctors are also eligible to apply, however their contract may not be extended beyond the age of 70 years.

Remuneration:

The Medical Officers engaged will be paid a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 51000/- per month. However, the Specialists retired from reputed hospitals and having MD degree may be considered for an additional remuneration of Rs. 10000/- per month over and above the remuneration for Medical Officers. No other facility, allowance etc. shall be admissible.

Increment:

If the period of Contract is extended beyond one year, an annual increment of 5% on the monthly remuneration shall be admissible.

General Terms and Conditions:

i. The engagement would be purely on contractual basis for a period of one year initially, subject to satisfactory performance, at the sole discretion of this Institute. Any claim for absorption at the regular position in the Institute will not be entertained at any point of time.

ii. The period of engagement of Medical Officer shall not exceed beyond the age of 70 years.

iii. The Medial Officer shall be eligible for 08 days of Casual leave in a calendar year. This leave will not be carried forward in case the engagement period is extended by this Institute. Also, no payment in lieu of unutilised leave will be paid by this Institute at the time of expiry of contract.

iv. The Institute may terminate the services of the Medical Officer in case he/she is unable to perform their duty to the satisfaction of the Competent Authority.

v. The Institute shall also reserve the right to terminate the services of the Medical Officer at any time without giving any notice and also without assigning any reason.

vi. The Medical Officer shall have to attend office six days a week in three shifts. (Morning Shift, General Shift, Night Shift) as per roster of duties to be assigned by the Institute.

vii. The Medical Officer will be required to attend duty on Saturdays, Sundays and other Gazetted Holidays or may be asked to attend patient after prescribed duty hours, in case of exigencies. No extra remuneration will be admissible for the same.

viii. The Medical Officer may continue to draw pension and dearness relief on pension, if any, during the period of their engagement as Medical Officer. This engagement as Medical Officer shall not be considered as a case of re-employment.

ix. No TA/DA shall be admissible to the Medical Officer for joining the assignment. Medical Officer will not be allowed any foreign travel at Institutes expenses. However, he/she may be allowed TA/DA for travel inside the country in connection with official work assigned to him/her.

x. The Headquarters of Medical Officer will be at Dhanbad.

xi. Any resultant dispute shall be settled within the jurisdiction of Dhanbad.
