Advertisement for Research Associate (RA) position

Department of Chemical Engineering

Applications are invited for one temporary RA position to work in a purely time bound research project funded by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) [Sanction letter no: 22 (0749)/17/EMR II] at the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Hyderabad under the supervision of Dr. Debaprasad Shee and Dr. Saptarshi Majumdar.

Project title: Conversion of Lignin to Aromatic Based Chemicals using Supported Metal

Catalysts

Duration of appoint: The RA position is initially for ONE year and extendable to another TWO years based on performance or till completion of project.

Eligibility: The Candidates with PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry are eligible to apply for the RA position. The candidates with ME/M.Tech. degree in Chemical Engineering with 3 years of research experience in relevant area may also apply.

Age limit: Maximum 35 years. Upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years for SC/ ST/ OBC /Women and Physically handicapped candidates

Experience: The prior experience in heterogeneous catalysis, synthesis of catalytic materials, operation of lab scale reactors, operation of analytical instruments (Gas chromatograph, GC; Gas chromatograph Mass spectrometry, GC-MS etc.); knowledge and or hands on experience on catalyst characterization techniques (Physisorption, Chemisorption, XRD, FTIR, UV-vis, TGA, SEM, TEM etc.) are required for this position.

Salary and facilities: @Rs. 36000 per month + HRA. The facilities to the candidate will be provided as per the rules and regulations of IIT Hyderabad.
