Applications are invited online only by `One Time Registration' from qualified candidates for selection to the post mentioned below. Candidates shall apply only through the online facility provided in the website of Kerala Public Service Commission viz, www.keralapsc.gov.in . Candidates who have AADHAAR card should add AADHAAR

The above vacancies are now in existence .The second NCA notification is issued due to the paucity of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe,Viswakarma and other Christian communities after the issuance of the first NCA notification vide category number 180/2013,181/2013 and 182/2013 respectively. The 1st NCA notification was necessitated owing to the paucity of candidates belonging to the respective communities in the Ranked list published on 9.08.2012 in pursuance of the notification dated14.02.2008 ( Cat No.72/2008).The Ranked list published as per this notification will be valid until candidates are advised and appointed against the vacancies for the above mentioned communities.

5. Method of appointment : Direct Recruitment( from among candidates belonging to the above mentioned reservation communities only)

Note: Application submitted by candidates not belonging to the above mentioned reservation communities will be summarily rejected and individual rejection memo will not be sent to such

candidates.

6. Age limit 1) 18-29 Only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2000 (both dates included are eligible to apply for this post in the case of Viswakarma and Other Christians18-31. Only candidates born between 02.01.1987 and 01.01.2000(both dates included)are eligible to apply for this post in the case of ST and also Other Christians candidates who have converted to Christianity from SC communities after attaining eighteen years and children of such parents. Other conditions regarding age relaxation are not applicable to this post.

Note: Women and physically handicapped persons are not eligible to apply for this post in view of the arduous and special nature of the responsibilities attached to the post.

7. Qualifications:

i) (a)Must have passed Plus two or its equivalent examination.

Preferential: Diploma in Computer Application

Only in the absence of eligible candidates with the above mentioned qualification

(b) Must have passed SSLC or its equivalent examination.

Note : KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable.

ii) Must possess valid current Motor Driving Licence with endorsement for driving heavy goods vehicle or heavy passenger vehicle with badge

Note: Candidates shall possess a current valid Driving Licence throughout all the stages of selection process,ie as on the last date of application, on the date of OMR Test, on the date of Practical Test ,on the date of physical effciency test etc.

Note: Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified above without glasses. Candidates should produce a Medical Certificate issued by a medical officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon Grade II as to the candidates physique, fitness and capacity for rough outdoor work and also of the visual standards as and when called for by the commission.

He is physically fit for the post of Fireman Driver cum Operator in the Fire and Rescue Services and has good physique and fitness and has the capacity to do rough outdoor work.

Note: Details regarding standards of vision should be clearly stated in the Certificate as given above and vague statement such as Vision `Normal' average etc will not be accepted. Specification for each eye should be stated separately against each item. otherwise the Certificate will not be accepted.

v) Physical efficiency test

A physical efficiency test will be conducted by the Commission to assess the physical standards and suitability of the candidates for the arduous nature of work. Candidates must qualify in atleast 5 out of 8 items in the physical efficiency test showing the minimum standards of efficiency as noted below.

Note:-

The proficiency in driving will be tested by a practical test conducted by the Commission.

  1. Preferential:-Other conditions being equal, the Home Guard Volunteers who have completed a tenure of three years in that organizations and who have satisfactorily undergone training in Fire Fighting during the period of tenure shall be treated as having preferential qualification for direct recruitment to this post.

  2. Probation:-Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty after he completes the training and examination will be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.

  3. Training:-Selected candidates should undergo a course of training for a period of 4 months in the State Fire Service Training School, and pass the examination in the subject prescribed for the course.

Note: A written and practical test will be conducted at the close of training. Those who fails to qualify themselves at the test, will have their training extended for a period of one month at the end of which they shall be tested again in the subjects in which they have failed. Those who fail to qualify themselves in the re-test shall be discharged from the service.

  1. Bond:-Every person appointed to the post shall compulsorily serve in the Department for 5 years after completion of training. He shall execute a bond intending to serve for a period of not less than 5 years and shall pay to Government a sum of Rs 2,700/- in case he fails to serve in the department for the said period.

  2. Mode of submitting applications:-

Candidates must register as per ONE TIME REGISTRATION with the official Website of Kerala Public Service Commission www.keralapsc.gov.in before applying for the post. Candidates who have registered can apply by logging on to their profile using their User-ID and password. Candidates must click on the Apply Now button of the respective posts in the Notification Link to applying for a post. The Photograph uploaded should be one taken on or after 31/12/2010. Name of the candidate and the date of taking photograph should be printed at the bottom portion. The photograph once uploaded meeting all requirements shall valid for 10 years from the date of uploading. There is no change in other instructions regarding the uploading of photographs. No application fee is required. Candidates shall take a printout of the application by clicking the link Registration Card in their profile. Candidates are responsible for the correctness of the personal information and secrecy of password. Before the final submission of the application on the profile candidates must ensure correctness of the information on their profile. They must quote the User-ID for further communication with the Commission. Application submitted is provisional and cannot be deleted or altered after submission. The application will be summarily rejected if noncompliance with the notification is found in due course of processing. Documents to prove qualification, Experience, Community, age etc have to be produced as and when called for.

14. If Written Test/OMR Test is conducted as a part of the selection Admission Tickets for eligible candidates will be made available in their Profile for One Time Registration and the date of downloading will be included in the Examination Calendar. Candidates can download Admission Ticket for 15 days from this date. Candidates who have downloaded the Admission Ticket will alone be permitted to attend the examination.
