IIT Jammu invites applications from Indian Nationals, Persons of Indian Origins (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Foreign Nationals with proven academic credentials and who have a passion for teaching and research, for faculty positions at the level of
Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor (Grade I & II) and Visiting Professor in the following disciplines:
Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Humanities & Social Science, Material Science & Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in one of the above disciplines. Industry experience and/or post-doctoral experience is highly desirable. Candidates must have a passion for excellence in both research and teaching.

Senior Level Positions. At senior levels, IIT Jammu hopes to attract a select few who have a well-established global reputation in research and development, and who can take leadership for new centers, programs, etc. Applications are particularly invited from senior researchers who are looking for a suitable opportunity to establish a center in India in some specialized area, particularly promoting interdisciplinary research.
IIT Jammu team shall be available for Faculty Search in Germany and USA during June 2018.

The main disciplines of interest and the main focus-areas within each discipline are given below. Recruitment is not limited to these areas only and candidates in other areas within these disciplines are also encouraged to apply.
Chemistry
Candidate must have PhD in Chemistry, and at least 3 years of Postdoctoral experience, from a reputed institution with a good research record and background. While all areas will be considered, the following areas are currently of special interest:
Organic Chemistry: C-H Activation, Bio-organic and Medicinal Chemistry, Total Synthesis. Inorganic Chemistry: Inorganic Synthesis, Physical-inorganic Chemistry, Molecular Magnetism. Physical Chemistry: Spectroscopy, Colloidal and Surface Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry and Electrochemistry. Catalysis: Heterogeneous Catalysis.
Civil Engineering
Candidates must have PhD in Civil Engineering, or an allied area, from a reputed institution, and a good research record and background. While candidates from all areas will be considered, the following areas are currently of special interest:
Structural Engineering: Underground Structures, Tunneling, Rock mechanics, Smart Structures, Advanced Materials, Seismic Design of steel and reinforced concrete structures, Structural Health monitoring, Repair and retrofitting, Static and dynamic analysis of structures, Finite element method, Bridge engineering, Wind Engineering, Pre-stressed concrete, Multiscale Modelling, Continuum Mechanics, Computational Material Science

Environmental and Water Resources Engineering: Air and water quality monitoring, modelling and management, indoor and outdoor pollution, water and wastewater treatment, solid and hazardous waste management, Hydrologic modelling, stochastic and spatial hydrology, computational hydraulics, ground water, aquifer modelling and management, water resources planning and management, urban water supply and GIS/remote sensing applications, Fluid Mechanics.
Computer Science & Engineering
Candidates must have PhD in Computer Science, or in allied area, from a reputed institution, and a good research record and background. While candidates from all areas will be considered, the following areas are currently of special interest:

The Institute aims to establish a broad-based HSS school where the inherent connections between engineering and sciences, and HSS are exploited.
