Engagement of Senior Consultant in Infrastructure Group of NIC

1. Scope of Work

NIC is intended to engage the services of Senior Consultant on contract basis in the Infrastructure Group of NIC Headquarter/NIC State units/Data Centres. The Infrastructure Group coordinates the infrastructural activities across India majorly in areas such as Data Centers Basic Infrastructure, District Infrastructure Augmentation and General Infrastructure etc.

During the period of engagement, Senior Consultant would be required to perform following duties, but not limited to:

a) Establishment of Data Center/Disaster Recovery Center

b) Commissioning/Augmentation of Cloud setup at Data Center

c) Augmentation of ICT Infrastructure

d) Migration of Present infrastructure to Cloud Environment

e) Establishment of Centre of Excellence Labs across country for Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Machine Learning, Mobile Apps, etc.

f) Establishment and operationalization of State-of-the-art Training Academies for NIC.

g) Any other work assigned by DG, NIC

2. Eligibility Criteria

Only Retired Government employees with grade pay equivalent to Rs.10,000 (As per 6th CPC) and above and having Masters degree/Bachelors degree in Engineering in relevant subject and minimum post qualification experience of 15 plus years in the requisite field as mentioned in scope of work.

3. General Conditions for engaging Senior Consultant

a) Expertise in noting/drafting various establishment/finance related rules/regulations of Government of India, capable of handling Administrative

matters, Court cases, Parliament questions and related matters, RTI, Procurement matters, examination of financial proposal etc.

b) Should have experience in planning, organizing and managing ICT infrastructure to ensure the stable and secure operation of the organizations IT infrastructure. This includes development, maintenance, support and optimization of network infrastructure, server infrastructure and data center infrastructure.

c) The deployment of candidate will be subject to Vigilance Clearance (VC) and Departmental Clearance (DC).

d) Strong communications skills, both oral and written with excellent academic record

e) Analytical and presentation skills with ability to generate a well-researched and written report.

f) Should have good communication and interpersonal skills, fair knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint experience.

4. Age Limit

Maximum age limit for the appointment of Senior Consultant shall be 65 years as on 1st January 2018.

5. Entitlement of Senior Consultant

The amount of remuneration in the case of retired Government official appointed as Senior Consultant shall not exceed the ceiling of (Last Pay + DA Drawn)-(Pension). However, candidate will continue to draw Pension and Dearness relief on pension during the period of their engagement as Senior Consultant.
