QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Deputy Librarian

Pay Scale

PB 3 with AGP of Rs. 8000.00

Essential Criteria

Deputation

Master's Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or at least 60% of the marks or its equivalent grade of 'B' in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record.

Ten years experience as an Assistant University Librarian/out of which at least 5 years to be in a post with AGP of Rs.7000/-or an equivalent post.

Evidence of innovative Library Service and organization of published work and professional commitment, computerization of library.

Officers from the Central / State Government or Institutes of national importance or Universities / University level Institution or PSU :

i) holding analogous post or

ii) With at least 5 years' service in posts in the GP of 6600/- as per Central Pay Commission or its equivalent and having experience in administration, establishment and accounts matters.

2. Executive Engineer(Civil)

Pay Scale

PB 3 with Grade Pay of Rs. 6,600.00

Essential Criteria

First class degree or equivalent grade in Engineering (Civil) from a recognized University / Institute;

5 years' experience in relevant field as Engineer / Assistant Engineer (in PB-3 and GP of Rs. 5400/-) from CPWD / State PWD or similar organized services / Semi-Govt. / PSU / Statutory or Autonomous organization / Universities / reputed Institute or organizations under Central / State Government

Desirable Criteria

Knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and latest Management Technology / other relevant software.

Proven track record of handling projects / works in reputed organization of relevant magnitude and qualities.

Designing and estimation, construction management etc., as relevant to the profession.

Deputation

Officers of the CPWD / State PWD or similar organized / services / semi-Govt. / PSU / Statutory or Autonomous organization, University, Institute of national importance etc:-

i)holding analogous posts or

ii) with at least 5 years' regular service in posts in the PB-3 with GP of 5400/- Assistant Executive Engineer / Assistant Engineer as per 6thCentral Pay Commission or equivalent.

3. SAS Officer

Pay Scale

PB 3 with Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000.00

Essential Criteria

First Class Master's Degree in Physical Education or Master's Degree in Sports Science with at least 60% marks (or equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) with a consistently good academic record;

Record of having represented the University/College at the inter-University/Inter-Collegiate competitions or State and/or national championships.

Qualifying in the national-level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC and passed the physical fitness test conducted in accordance with these regulations.

OR

First Class Master's Degree in Fine Arts or Performing Visual Arts, Journalism and Mass Communication or First Class Master's degree in Arts or Science or Bachelor's degree in engineering followed by a diploma of at least one year's duration in Fine Arts or Visual / Performing Arts.

Record of strong involvement and proven track record of participating in sports, drama, music, films, painting, photography, journalism, event management or other student / event management activities during college / university studies.

Record of organizing such events as student convener or in later part of life

4. Medical Officer

Essential Criteria

MBBS Degree or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register.

Desirable Criteria

Post Graduate qualification, preferably MD, in General medicine

5. Technical Officer

OR Employees of the Institute serving as Technical Assistant (Selection Gr. II) for at least 6 years (Grade Pay Rs. 4800/-) or higher in the institute. Preference will be given to the persons who have served in the Army / Central Paramilitary Forces or such unformed services and possessing a valid Arms license

Training and handling emergency situation like Fire Fighting, Rescue Operations, Floods, Earthquake etc.

Possessing a Diploma certificate in Security operations / Fire safety and disaster manager from a University / Institute / reputed organization

7. Engineer(Civil)

OR

An institute employee serving as Asst. Engineer (SGII) for at least 6 years with "excellent" service record for past five years. [Age limit will be relaxed].

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. All Qualification, Experience and Age Limit will be recognized as on 30.04.2016.

2. As an institute of national importance, NIT Silchar strives to have a workforce which reflects an all-India character and hence candidates from all over the country are encouraged to apply.

3. Persons employed in Government / Semi Government Organizations / Autonomous Bodies should submit their applications through proper channel. Alternatively, they may send an advance copy of the application (scanned) through email and may submit the NOC at the time of interview.

4. Degree as referred above should have been awarded by a recognized University/ Institute.

5. The Institute reserves the right not to fill any or all the posts advertised and to reject any or all the applications without assigning any reason.

6. Selected candidates will be under probation for a period as specified in the Recruitment Rules for non-teaching posts in the NITs and will be confirmed subject to satisfactory completion of the probation and other requirements as per rule.

7. Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for test and/or interview. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for test and/or interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualification, experience, and relevant to its needs higher than those prescribed in this advertisement.

8. A panel of eligible candidates shall be prepared as per recommendation of the SelectionCommittee and vacancies that arise if any within one year will be filled in sequence from the panel.

9. The Institute reserves the right to rectify any discrepancy in the grade pay, pay band, etc., if found later on.

10. Application processing fee of Rs. 200.00 is to be paid by the applicants except SC, STand PWD candidates, to State Bank of India A/C No.- 10521277057, IFSC Code - SBIN0007061 of Director, NIT Silchar.

11. The candidates are required to apply in the prescribed format with complete information. Candidates applying for more than one post are required to submit separate application form and fee.

12. The applicants are instructed to download the application form from the Institute Website www.nits.ac.in and mail the scan copy of the application form duly filled and signed by the applicant along with scan copy of the transaction slip for the fees deposited to the email id nits.interview@gmail.com within 05.05.2016.

13. The original application form should be sent / submitted along with the original transaction slip and all relevant documents (duly self-attested) in a sealed envelope addressed to The Registrar, National Institute of Technology, Silchar 788010, Assam, within 10.05.2016. Hard copy of the applications received after 10.05.2016 shall not be considered. The Institute shall not be responsible for postal or other delays.

14. Incomplete applications, unsigned applications shall be summarily rejected and no communication in this regard shall be entertained.

15. Canvassing in any manner would entail disqualification of the candidature.

16. Name of the shortlisted candidates will be displayed in the institute website. No separate Individual intimation will be sent. Besides, all information regarding Test and/or Interview schedule etc. will also be provided through the Institute website only.

17. The Institute will not be responsible in any manner if a candidate fails to visit / access the website in time. Candidates are requested to regularly visit the Institute website i.e., www.nits.ac.in for updated information regarding the recruitment.

18. Call letters to the eligible applicants shall be sent by email. No postal communication shall be made.

19. The decision of the Institute in all matters will be final. No correspondence /interim inquiries will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection.

20. Any dispute with regard to the selection process will be subject to Courts / Tribunals having jurisdiction over Silchar.
