Requirement of Contractual Faculty Advt. No. PEC/CF/18(1)

Walk-in-interview for contractual faculty is scheduled as given in table below. The appointment shall be for the academic semester 1718(2) (i.e from Jan 2018 to May 2018) or till the post is filled with permanent faculty appointment, whichever is earlier.

Note: 1. Candidates are advised to reach the Seminar Hall, New Academic Block, Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Sector-12, Chandigarh strictly at the Reporting time. No candidate will be entertained later on.

1. In case the number of candidates for the interview is more than the ratio of 1:10, then a written test may also be conducted for shortlisting the candidates.
   
   
2. In case candidates of PWD category in the departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Electrical Engineering are not found participating/ suitable, in that eventuality, candidates for other disciplines may also be considered out of these categories.
   
   
3. In case of non-availability of suitable Ph.D. candidate in Centre of
   
   

Management & Humanities (Management), the candidate with Masters Qualification may be considered subject to the approval of BoG.

2. Qualifications:

(i) For Sr. No. 1

For Humanities:-Management & Communication Skills

Essential:

i) Masters degree with minimum 55% marks in English/Business Administration/ Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management/ Post Graduate Diploma in Management Administration/ Commerce/ Economics/ Psychology/ Sociology followed by Ph.D./ Fellowship from Indian Institute of Management or equivalent in the relevant area.

OR

ii) First class Bachelors degree in Engineering and First class degree in Business Administration/Post Graduate diploma awarded by Indian Institute of Management or its equivalent followed by Ph.D./ Fellowship from Indian Institute of Management or equivalent in the relevant area.

Note: In case of non-availability of suitable Ph.D. candidate, the candidate with Masters Qualification may be considered subject to the approval of BoG.

(ii) For Sr. No. 2 to 6

Essential:

1. First class in both Masters Degree and Bachelor Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Engg.) & Technology (Tech.).
   
   
2. Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable: i) Teaching, research, industrial and/ or professional experience in a reputed
   
   

organization. ii) Papers presented at conferences and/or in refereed journals. iii) Candidates with PhD would be considered for higher emoluments.

1. The candidate should be a citizen of India. Candidates from transgender may also apply.
   
   
2. Emoluments:
   
   

i) Pay for candidates with M.E. / M.Tech. and Ph.D. in Applied Science will be Rs.48,500/-(Consolidated) ii) Pay for candidates with Ph.D. in Engineering will be Rs.52,000/-(Consolidated) iii) Higher pay may be offered to exceptionally qualified candidates at discretion of Selection committee & approval of Director, PEC.

1. Age : 37 years
   
   
2. Existing norms of the Government of India for age relaxation and other relaxation (if any) in reservation will be followed.
   
   
3. The candidates may report for walk-in interview along with original documents and oneself attested copy of documents in the Seminar Room, New Academic Block, PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh as per above schedule. List of documents to prove: Identity preferably Adhar card, Passport size photograph, Age, Caste Category certificate (SC/PwD/OBC), Educational Qualification, Experience, Research Papers etc.
   
   
4. SC/OBC certificate, on the prescribed form only and issued by the competent authority declared by the Government of India will be accepted as proof in support of claim as SC/OBC candidate.
   
   
5. Visually disabled / Hearing disabled candidates shall produce medical certificate issued by competent authority in support of their claim.
   
   
6. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
   
   
7. Number of posts may vary at the time of interview.
