Applications are invited for one (01) post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work under DBT-NER-BPMC sponsored research project entitled Sequencing the genome of the Himalayan giant honeybee Apis laboriosa with a special focus on chemosensory receptors and circadian clock genes

The project involves: Field work Taxonomic work, Scanning Electron Microscopy & Preparation & Analysis sequence data.

Student will have to work in the Department of Zoology, Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh (Parent Institute), as well as NCBS, Bangalore (Collaboration Institute). He /She can also register for Ph.D degree in Rajiv Gandhi University. The tenure of the project is for three years. The post is purely temporary and coterminous with the project. Eligibility

Suitable candidates must hold a Master's degree with minimum 55% of the total marks (equivalent grade) in Zoology/Allied subject. Excellent problem solving, oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills with experience working within a team, as well as an ability to work under field & Laboratory conditions are desirable. Candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. The applicants should be below the age of 28 years (relaxable for 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped & Womns candidate) for open category as on 28^th March 2017. All things being equal SC/ST candidate would be preferred as per GoI rules

Details of the Fellowship

JRFs will be positioned in Rajiv Gandhi University. The fellowship for JRF/SRF will be @ Rs. 25,000/or 28,000/-per month + HRA those with NET qualification as per DST guidelines. The fellowship for Non-NET candidates will be: JRF and SRF @ Rs. 12,000/-and 14,000/-pm, respectively as per DST guidelines. HRA will be paid as per Government of India norms.
