Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following posts at the School of Vedic Studies under the UGC Scheme, UGC Assistance for Post Graduate Diploma in Manuscriptology and Palaeography under Innovative Programme Teaching & Research in Interdisciplinary and Emerging Areas from 04/11/2016 to 24/11/2016 (till 4.30 p.m.) to be downloaded from university website (www.rbu.ac.in) and submitted to the Establishment Section of the University along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 300/-(Rupees Three Hundred only) (Rs. 150/-[Rupees One Hundred Fifty] for SC/ST) in favour of RABINDRA BHARATI UNIVERSITY payable at KOLKATA not later than 25/11/2016 (from 11 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on all university working days). The applicants are requested to submit the duly filled-in application form with requisite testimonials along with Demand Draft and certificates along with 6(six) copies of application form [Application form + six photo copies of application form and one copy each of all mark sheets, certificates, age proof and other testimonials (1 set)].

Assistant Professor (Pay Band Rs. 15,600 39,100/-plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6000/-) in Arts, Humanities.

  1. Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject[e.g. (a.) for Palaeography M.A. in Palaeography or in allied subject (b.) for Museology M.A. in Museology] .

  2. At least a second class Three Years Bachelors Degree with Honours/ Major in the relevant/ allied subject.

  3. The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC (CSIR) or similar test accredited by the UGC like NET/SLET.

  4. However, the candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the Minimum Eligibility Condition of NET/SLET/SET.

  5. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters programme in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

Desirable qualifications:

a) Proficiency in Sanskrit b) Experience in handling manuscripts.

NOTE: For recruitment of all categories of teaching positions.

  1. Relevant/ allied disciplines in each case, Good Academic Record and Maximum Age limit may be decided by the appropriate bodies of the concerned university.

    1. Composition of the selection committee and the selection criteria based on the candidates academic record, domain knowledge, teaching ability, research/ teaching

    2. experience, performance in his/ her previous academic/ research positions in the colleges/ universities/ research institutes/ industries and other related aspects may be decided by the appropriate bodies of the concerned university taking into consideration as far as practicable, the relevant guidelines of UGC in such matters.
  2. In addition to the minimum eligibility criteria and experiences as stated above for each category of academic positions, the concerned universities may include other relevant qualifications/ experiences.

    1. A relaxation of 5% in the marks may be provided for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Differently-abled (physically as well as visually) categories

      1. at the Masters level required to satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria.

      2. for assessing good academic record throughout the candidates career.

The marks in each case mean the qualifying marks without any grace marks and/or rounding off procedures.

5. A relaxation of 5% may be provided for the minimum eligibility marks of 55% at the

Master level to the Ph.D. degree holders who have obtained their Masters degree prior to

September 19, 1991.

Fulfillment of minimum qualifications does not guarantee a call for interview. The University

reserves the right to decide the number of candidates to be called for interview for a particular

post. Incomplete applications are liable to be cancelled.
