Advertisement for the post of JRF in DST-SERB sponsored project
Thapar University (TU), one of leading centers for research and teaching in the country, provides excellent facilities and ideal atmosphere to pursue research in advanced fields of Science & Technology. TU invites application for the post of JRF in a DST-SERB sponsored research project titled Computational and experimental study of flow-induced vibration of a plate with piezoelectric material to improve performance of wind vibration energy harvester. The project will involve experiments on the wind tunnel, handling of various transducers used to measure vibration and flow parameters and, also, computational work on tools like ANSYS/COMSOL, LabVIEW and MATLAB. In addition, the scope for enrolling in PhD programme at TU is available under this project.

TU reserves the right to fix suitable criteria for short-listing the eligible candidates for the personal interview; short listed candidates will be called by e-mail only. The original certificates should be brought for verification at the time of interview. No TA/DA will be provided to candidates for attending the interview.
Duration of project: The duration of the project is three years. However, the initial appointment will be for one year, and may be extended based on the candidates performance. The appointment is purely temporary and will be coterminous with the completion of the project.
Emoluments: Rs.25000 per month
Benefits: The selected candidate has the provision to register for Ph.D. program of the University, as per the prevailing University guidelines
Eligibility criteria:
Essential -B.E/B.Tech.in Mechanical Engineering/Applied Mechanics/CAD-CAM/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree at least 60% marks in the aggregate or equivalent C.G.P.A in the qualifying degree with a valid GATE scores.
Desirable -M.E/ M.Tech. in Mechanical/Applied Mechanics/ CAD-CAM /Aerospace Engineering with at least 60% marks in the aggregate or equivalent C.G.P.A in the qualifying degree.
