The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) is seeking qualified candidates for the post of Director (Technical), Indian Rare Earths Limited(IREL), a schedule B CPSE, the scale of pay of the post being Rs. 65,000 75,000/-. A copy of the job description for the post is enclosed. |
2. It is requested that names of all candidates seniority-wise for the said post along with their applications in the prescribed format duly verified may kindly be forwarded so as to reach the PESB by 15.00 hours on 22nd June, 2017. COMPANY PROFILE
Indian Rare Earths Limited (IREL) was incorporated in 1950 under the Indian Companies Act, 1913 as joint venture with the then Government of Travancore, Cochin. Its main objective is to emerge as a leading international player in the area of mining and separation of beach sand deposits to produce minerals as well as processing for value added products thereof. IREL is a schedule B Miniratna CPSE in Minerals and Metals sector under the administrative control of Department of Atomic Energy.
Its Registered and Corporate offices are in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The authorized and paid up capital of the Company was Rs. 100 crore and Rs. 86.37 crore respectively as on March 31, 2016.
The shareholding of the Government of India in the company is 100%.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Director (Technical) is a member of Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman and Managing Director. He is responsible for coordination of all technical functions in the Company including implementation of the projects, providing directions, adoption of new methods to promote production, formulation of technical programmes for overall development, planning, monitoring of different activities etc

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:
The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity in one of the followings :-

Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);

Central Government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;

State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 1000 crore or more;

Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is *Rs 1000 crore or more.
(* The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

QUALIFICATION:
The applicant should be Engineering graduate preferably in Chemical/Mechnical/Mettallurgy/Mining Engineering from a recognised University/Institution with good academic record.
Applicants holding MBA/Post Graduate Diploma in management will have an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE:
The applicant should have adequate technical/operational experience at a senior level of management in a large organization of repute, out of which at least two years during the last ten years should have been in the field of Mining/Rare Earth Industry or dealing with Chemical Production/projects.

PAY SCALE/ RANK/ LEVEL:
The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale/rank/level will be one year for internal candidates, and two years for others as on the date of vacancy.

DURATION OF APPOINTMENT
The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or upto the date of superannaution or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

UNDERTAKING BY THE APPLICANT
