  1. B. Functions:

  2. (a) In-charge of General Administration and Human Resource Management functions/services of the Institute such as: Recruitment to Retirement life-cycle of faculty and staff; IT & Web Services; Media & Public Relations; Printing & Stationery; Medical & Health-care; Hostels and Mess; Reception; Outsourced Services; Stores & Purchase; Logistics, Travel and Accommodation; Legal, Contracts & MoUs; Official Language; Disability Services; Institute events; RTI Act 2005 compliance; Coordination with other IIMs; Coordination and liaison with MHRD, GOI & State Govt.; Parliament Questions; Annual Reports & Institute publications; Custodian of all agreements of the Institute; Reservations, Discipline matters and Grievance Redressal; Coordination for Internal Complaints Committee etc.

  1. (b) Ensuring compliance with IIM Act 2017; GOI rules and regulations e.g. CCS Rules 1964/1965 and subsequent amendments, FRSR, GFR 2017, 7th CPC, Manual for Procurement of Consultancy & Other Services 2017 etc.

  1. (c) Preparing HR Policy & Service Rules for the Institute.

  1. C. Essential Qualifications:

  2. A Post Graduate Degree in any discipline.

  1. D. Experience:

Essential

  • A minimum of 15 (fifteen) years of relevant post-qualification experience in an officer/executive/supervisory capacity in the General Administration and/or HR functions with at least 5 (five) years in the immediate lower level/grade than the pay-scale being advertised or its equivalent.

  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience of working on MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Highly Desirable

  • A PGDM / MBA Degree

  • A Degree in Law

  • Experience in the General Administration and/or HR functions of a Central Government Department/Organization; (or) a Central Public-Sector Enterprise; (or) an Autonomous

  • Academic/Research Institution under the Central Government; (or) Higher educational institution of repute such as IIM, IIT etc.

  • Experience of leading / independently managing the Administration / HR function

  • E. Age:

Not exceeding 50 years as on the closing date of applications.

  1. F. Pay-Scale (for regular position):

7th CPC (Level 12). Pay at entry level = 78800 + Allowances as applicable.

  1. G. Mode of Appointment:

  2. (a) To be filled as regular position. However, if sufficient number of suitable candidates are not available among the applicants (or) suitable candidate could not be identified in the selection interview, the Institute reserves the right to relax the eligibility criteria if need be, and use the same interview process to:
    1. i. Fill the position on contract basis; and/or

    2. ii. Offer a position lower than the one being advertised.

  1. (b) If appointed on regular basis, probation norms will apply. If appointed on contract basis, either a pay-scale based salary or a consolidated salary commensurate with qualification, experience, last-pay drawn etc. could be considered.

  1. H. Other Terms & Conditions:

  2. (a) The Institute reserves the right to consider the candidature of persons who may not have applied.

  3. (b) Mere fulfilment of qualifications and experience does not entitle a candidate to be short-listed. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the candidates to be called for the selection process to a reasonable number, on the basis of relevant criteria, higher than the minimum prescribed.

  4. (c) Qualifications acquired must be duly recognized in law.

  5. (d) Experience would be reckoned as on the closing date of applications.

  6. (e) A higher starting salary can be considered in deserving cases.

  7. (f) The place of work is the Institutes campus. It is presently located in Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The Institute is likely to move to its permanent campus located in Gambheeram Village in Anandapuram Mandal, in about three years. The permanent campus is about 20 Km.s from the present (temporary/transit) campus.

  8. (g) Candidates are advised to visit the website of IIM Visakhapatnam (www.iimv.ac.in/careers ) regularly for updates. Amendments, corrigenda (if any), will be placed on the Institute website only.

  9. (h) The Institute reserves the right not to fill up any/all the position(s).

  10. (i) The Institute will communicate only with short-listed candidates.

  11. (j) Candidates employed in Departments, Organizations/Institutions (including Autonomous Institutions) under the Government (Central or State); or, Public-Sector Undertakings (Central or State) should either apply through proper channel or produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview.

  12. (k) No correspondence from applicants shall be entertained during the recruitment process.

  13. (l) Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

  14. (m) The Institute requires the selected candidates to join at the very earliest.

  15. (n) Reservation: Qualification, experience and competence remaining the same, reservation as per Government of India rules would be applicable. Latest copies of necessary certificates as per relevant rules must be submitted, when called for.

  16. (o) Candidates who have been interviewed by the Institute in the past six months NEED NOT apply.

  1. (p) Interested candidates are invited to apply using the prescribed format only, available on the (www.iimv.ac.in/careers ) page. Applications should be complete in all respects. Additional sheets as needed may be used and referenced suitably. All information furnished MUST be based on supporting documentation. Incomplete/incorrect applications are liable to be rejected.

  2. (q) At the time of submitting the application, copies of certificates/supporting documentation NEED NOT be attached. Such proof would be sought ONLY from the short-listed candidates.

  3. (r) The closing date for receipt of applications by the Institute is 07 May 2018, 1700 Hrs.

  4. (s) In all matters of recruitment and selection, the interpretation and decision of the Screening and Recruitment Committees of the Institute shall be final and binding.

  5. (t) Disputes (if any) shall be subject to the jurisdiction of civil courts of the city of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
