Advertisement for the Position of JRF/SRF

Applications are invited from the interested candidates for two posts of Junior Research Fellow/ Senior Research Fellow to work on the R&D project titled Smart City Surveillance using Decentralized Multi-camera Networks sanctioned by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), New Delhi. The staffs will be appointed initially for one year (on contract) and their services will be extended for next year based on the performance review.

Eligibility:

1. M.Tech./MS(R)/M.E. in Electronics/Communications Engineering/ Computer sciences with strong knowledge in C/C++/JAVA/Python and Image Processing/Networking with at least 6.5 CGPA or 60 percent marks in aggregate from a recognized technical institute or university as a full time program.

Objective of the Project

Objective of this proposal is to develop an automated smart city surveillance system using decentralized camera networks where aim is to investigate and analyze both theoretically and experimentally to:

Improve fully decentralized approaches which will increase the adaptivity and robustness of the surveillance system in decentralized multi-camera network as compared to a static approach based on the priori known vision graph, which is not required a centralized component for smart city design.

Perform track-to-measurement association for a time-varying number of targets with higher accuracy which usually incurs much higher costs, whose reduction is an important open problem to be addressed in multi-camera networks for smart city design.

Application Process

Application will be received online at IIT Jammu webpage with all the supporting documents latest by May 02, 2018. Candidates who are already employed should produce relieving certificate from their employers, if selected. The written test/interview will be conducted for all the eligible candidates. The applicants need to bring all the original documents for verification during written test/interview. The list of shortlisted candidates will be posted in the IIT Jammu website (www.iitjammu.ac.in) along with the date and time of the written test/interview.

Attention:

1. The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of information, other documents and photographs submitted.

2. The Institute reserves the right to accept application at any time, and consider candidates of exceptional credentials without applications. Qualification and experience may be relaxed by the Institute at any point of time for otherwise exceptional candidates.

3. Mere, possessing the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate would be called for Interview. The Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of merit and need of the project.

4. Shortlisted Candidates will be informed by email (apart from website) about the interview date. So, the Candidate must provide valid E-mail IDs in their applications.

5. Shortlisted candidates have to present themselves for the interview on the interview date with updated CV and original and attested photocopies of mark sheets/ certificates in support of their academic qualifications.

6. Applicants in employment (private, government or any other organization) are required to submit a No Objection Certificate from the employer at the time of interview.

7. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.

8. Bio-data format is being provided with this notification. The candidates are required to bring duly filled in bio-data format along with photocopies of required documents.

9. Last date for receiving the duly filled in application by online is May 02, 2018.

10. Intimation regarding written test/interview shall be posted on the Institute website.
