Walk in Interview for Project Engineer(JRF)

Applications are invited from citizens of India for filling up the following position in a sponsored project from Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India (File No: ECR/2016/001276) undertaken in the School of Engineering, IIT Mandi.

The position is purely temporary and is initially offered for one year and can be extended based on the performance of the candidate for the duration of the project (up to March 2020). The essential qualification and experience are listed below.

Salary

15,000 to 25,000/- per month (consolidated) depending on qualification

Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • B.Tech. or B.E. in Mechanical/Production Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks or 6 CGPA (preferably GATE qualified), or
  • M.Tech. or M.E. in Mechanical/Production/Welding/Material Science/Metallurgy or related areas with minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA

Job Profile

The candidate is expected to fabricate the nanostructured microwave clads, carry out necessary characterisation and slurry erosion testing. The candidate is also expected to establish processing-microstructure-property correlations in the nanostructured microwave clads; collection, analysis and interpretation of data.

Preferable Experience

Exposure to surface engineering techniques, knowledge of tribology of engineering materials and material characterisation tools.

Age Limit

Maximum 30 years as on the date of interview. SC/ST/OBC and physically handicapped candidates will be entitled for the relaxation in age limit as per the government norms

Candidates meeting the above stated qualification and experience should bring their latest CV, a passport size photo graph, one set of photocopies of their educational certificates starting from class 10th (marksheets or transcripts), experience certificates (if any), and a Letter of Recommendation during interview. The date of interview shall be 23 March 2018 (Friday) at 10.00 am at IIT Mandi, Kamand Campus, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

Terms and Conditions:

  • The selected candidate may have to join immediately.

  • After joining, the candidate may get institute accommodation based on the availability and institute norms.

  • No TA/DA will be paid for the interview.

  • The decision of the selection committee regarding the candidates being selected for the aforementioned post is final.

  • The selection committee reserves the right to fill up or not fill up the advertised post.
