Applications in the prescribed form (available from the University Sales Counter, Rajbati, Burdwan on payment of Rs. 250/-) with full biodata and self-attested copies of educational qualifications are invited from the eligible Indian Nationals for recruitment of (i) four Project Assistants to perform official work, to operate different sophisticated instruments, etc under the Coordinator, PURSE Phase 2, The University of Burdwan, Burdwan and (ii) seven Research Fellows to work one each under one of the Faculty Members in each of the Departments of Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Earth Science (viz, Geography or Geospatial Science), Mathematics, Physics and Zoology, The University of Burdwan, Burdwan for executing advanced research work of the DST sponsored PURSE Phase 2 Programme. The application forms may also be downloaded from the university website http://www.buruniv.ac.in , and in this case a Demand Draft of Rs. 250/- issued from any nationalized bank drawn in favour of The Finance Officer, The University of Burdwan payable at Burdwan must be enclosed with the applications. The duly filled-in application forms in a sealed envelope, superscribing Project Assistant or Research Fellow, PURSE Phase 2, must reach to Prof. Barindra Kumar Ghosh, Coordinator, PURSE Phase 2, Department of Chemistry, The University of Burdwan, Golapbag, Burdwan 713104 within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of publication of this advertisement. No TA/DA is admissible to the candidate who will be called for interview.

Qualification: (i) Project Assistant, B Sc (Hons)/M Sc in any subject; (ii) Research Fellow, M Sc in Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Earth Science (viz, Geography or Geospatial Science), Mathematics, Physics or Zoology from any recognized Indian University/Institute along with NET/GATE/SET qualification

Stipend: (i) Project Assistant, Rs 8,900/- per month (consolidated); (ii) Research Fellow, Rs 16,000/- per month (consolidated)

Tenure: Initially for one year or so in case of both Project Assistants and Research Fellows, and extendable up to a period of another three years or so subjected to the satisfactory performance and availability of the fund from DST, New Delhi
