Walk-in interview for the posts of

in the Research Project entitled Atmospheric studies in the geophysically sensitive tropical to sub-tropical transition region with ST Radar Facilities at Calcutta University funded by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India under the supervision of Prof. Ashik Paul, Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, will be held in the office of the Secretary, Faculty Council for Post-Graduate Studies in Engineering, Technology and Veterinary Sciences, University College of Technology, 92 Acharya Prafulla Chandra Road, Kolkata 700009 between 12noon to 3P.M. on November 23, 2017. Candidates should bring all original testimonials along with one set copy of the same. All applicants should report by 12noon.

The minimum qualification for

1. Research Scientist is Ph.D. degree in Radio Physics and Electronics or Atmospheric Science or Physics or related field with published work in the field of upper and lower atmospheric studies. Candidates within two years of their Ph.D. will be given preference.

2. Engineer is M.Tech. in Radio Physics and Electronics/M.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering or equivalent with specialization/exposure to Digital Signal Processing, Software Development and at least 75% marks at Master's level.

3. Junior Engineer is Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering or equivalent with specialization/exposure to RF and antenna and at least 75% marks at the Bachelor's level.

Candidates are expected to report for duty at the Ionosphere Field Station, Haringhata regularly. Working hours may be extended beyond schedule during installation, commissioning of the radar, campaign mode observations, maintenance of the radar and other occasions as decided by the Principal Investigator.

All recruited personnel may have to visit various radar facilities in India and the vendor for undertaking necessary training for operation, maintenance, trouble-shooting etc. periodically. Further, periodic visits to various Central govt. regulatory and licensing agencies may be needed.

Remuneration will be as per the sanction of the funding agency (SERB, DST) and also as per the norms of the University.

Upper age limit is 32 years for Research Scientists and 28 years for Engineers as on 01.11.2017, relaxable up to 5 years for woman/SC/ST/OBC candidates.

The tenure of all the posts is one year at present but is likely to be continued till the end of the project.

No TA/DA will be paid to the applicants for the interview.
