The Department of Computer engineering offers B.Tech(in Computer Engineering and Information Technology), M.Tech (in Computer Engineering andCyber Security) and Ph.D. programmes.Since its inception Department has witnessed exponential growth in emerging areas of Distributed Computing, Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Database and Data Mining, Natural Language Processing, Information and Cyber Security, Image Processing.The Department is well equipped with all state-of-the-art hardware, software resources and simulation software packages providing all necessary computing facilities to the students, faculty and staff.

Course Details

The main objective of this short-term course is to provide a forum in which the participants obtain information about recent advances in optimization techniques.Italso highlights successful applications of optimization in various areas. It comprises of sessions for the participants to introduce them to a number of modern optimization methodologies and their application/case studies from a wide variety of real world interdisciplinary engineering problems. Owing to the interdisciplinary nature of this course, participants across the disciplines will be able to attend, appreciate and augment their knowledge to keep with the emerging advanced techniques. The course intends to focus on advances in the following domains, but is not limited to:

  • Optimization Techniques introduction

  • Recent Meta-heuristics -Spider Monkey Optimization

  • Bat algorithm

    Cuckoo search optimization

  • Genetic Algorithm (GA), Swarm Intelligence, Ant Colony Optimization (ACO)

  • Teaching-Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) algorithm, Differential Evolution (DE)

  • Neural network based and fuzzy based optimization.

  • Guidelines on publishing research papers- reviewers perspective, plagiarism checking

  • Hands-on training using MATLAB and other Software Tools Python, Java etc.

Resource Persons

Distinguished and Learned persons from institutes of repute including IITs, NITs and experts from related industries will be the resource persons for the course- AOTEA-18.

Target Participants

The proposed course is designed and intended for engineers, faculty members of engineering colleges, graduate students and research scholars working in the various engineering domains.

Registration Fees

Academic Faculty : 3000.00 INR Students* : 2500.00 INR Industry Participants : 5000.00 INR

Interested participants should submit the complete application form in a prescribed format along with the registration fee in the form of demand draft in favor of Director, NIT Kurukshetra payable at Kurukshetra.

*Student (UG/PG/PhD) participants need to submit scanned copy of a valid proof/ID along with theregistration form.

General Information

Participants will not be paid any TA/DA. Accommodation and travelling expenses are to be borne by participants or their respective institutes. However, accommodation can be arranged in hostel/guest house on nominal payment basis subject to the availability. The organizers will provide the meals and refreshment during the course. Limited numbers of seats are available; therefore, participants will be selectedon first-comefirst-serve basis. The registrationform complete in all respects, accompanied bydemand draft of requisite amount should reach onor before Jan03, 2018.
