Advertisement for Research Assistant for ICSSR Funded Research Project

Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant for an ICSSR funded Research Project at the Department of Sociology, University of Mumbai

Project title:

Development, Religion and Sustainable Environments: Collective Environmental Mobilization in the Western Ghats, Karnataka

The project aims to revisit & map the environmental issues that are engaging the Uttara Kannada region of the Western Ghats at present. To map the changing relations between communities, religious organisations, markets, the state and the bio-physical environment.

Research Fellowship Details:

Research Assistant: One (Full time position) (Rs.13,000/- per month consolidated) (as per ICSSR Guidelines)

Project Duration:

22 months, beginning July 1^st 2017. The appointment shall be on a six month renewable basis.

Essential Qualification:

Masters degree (Appeared) in Sociology or related social science discipline with minimum 55% marks.

U.G.C. NET/ SET qualification preferred. Knowledge of computers and good writing ability is mandatory.
