VACANCY NOTIFICATION

Applications are invited for the following posts upto 20.02.2017 at Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry:

I. (1) Technical Assistant (Zoology) 3 posts (UR-1; OBC-1; ST-1) Application Form

Educational Qualification :

Essential : (i) Three years Bachelor Degree in Zoology from a

recognized University

(ii) One year Certificate / Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or one year

experience in the laboratory/field in the lower scale in Govt. Department/Institution.

Nature of duties : To provide assistance and technical support in research activities, in the laboratory/field works related to

surveillance and control of vectors & vector borne

diseases and any other related work assigned.

Age limit : Not exceeding 30 years on the last date of receipt of

application, i.e. 20.02.2017

(2) Technical Assistant (Microbiology) 1 post (UR) Application Form

Nature of duties : To provide assistance & technical support to research activities related to development of control/diagnostic tools for surveillance and control of vectors and vector borne diseases, collection and analysis of data involving field survey, sample collection, molecular, biological/ microbiological/immunological/biotechnological techniques. To provide assistance in the training

programmes.

(3) Technical Assistant (Sociology) 1 post (UR) Application Form

Nature of duties : To provide assistance in research programme involving collection of quantitative and qualitative data through survey, observation, interviews, focus group discussion &

other primary sources, analyze & draw conclusions from data, facilitate advocacy & social mobilization with stake holders, planning and conducting related meetings.

Nature of duties : Field works related to entomological and parasitological surveys including collection of blood samples, laboratory works related to vector identification, bioassay, biochemical assay, ELISA, PCR

assay, dissection, staining, microscopy etc., and any other work as assigned by the superiors

III. Stenographer 1 post (UR) Application Form

Essential : (i) 10th/Matriculation pass or its equivalent examination

(ii) 80 w.p.m speed in English shorthand

(iii) 45 w.p.m in English typewriting on manual typewriter (or) typing speed of 45 words per minute on computer (45 words per minute correspond to 13500 key depressions for each word)

Nature of duties : (i) To take dictation and transcribe matter/letters

(ii) Arranging official meetings, managing of appointments/

engagements, taking minutes of the meeting,

maintenance of APARs of VCRC staff, booking of air

tickets and other routine office works

Nature of duties : Maintaining section diary, typing, comparing & maintenance of files, clerical and other administrative works assigned

Nature of duties : Up-keeping of laboratories/Library/Animal House/Guest Room/Office. To assist routine office works like photocopying, sending of fax, dispatch work. Assistance to minor works like plumbing/electrical/civil etc.,

Age : Between 18 to 25 years on the last date of receipt

of application, i.e. 20.02.2017

Other Information:-

(1) The posts are temporary but likely to continue.

(2) The above posts are with all India transfer liability.

(3) Age relaxation is allowed for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen candidates and Government Servants in accordance with the instructions and orders issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) from time to time in this regard. Candidates working in the long term projects of ICMR Institutes/Centres shall be given one time age relaxation provided they meet the essential qualifications prescribed for the post

(4) Benefits of new restructured defined Contributory Pension System are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division), Notification No.5/7/2003- ECB & PR dated 22.12.2003.

(5) Selection shall be made by open competitive written test in respect of the posts at Sl.No. I, II, IV, V & VII. Selection to the post at Sl.No. III shall be made by open competitive written test followed by competitive proficiency test and selection to the post at Sl.No. VI shall be made by open competitive test followed by typing skill test in computer. The date, time and venue of the written test will be intimated through call letters.

(6) Candidate, who fulfills the eligibility criteria as per recruitment rules, will be called for written test.

(7) The number of vacancies mentioned, includes anticipated vacancies and it may vary.

(8) Candidates fulfilling the above qualifications and willing to apply for the post may download the application form, from the VCRC website (www.vcrc.res.in ) and submit the same on or before 20.02.2017 to The Director, Vector Control Research Centre, Medical Complex, Indira Nagar, Puducherry 605 006.

(9) A Demand Draft for ` 300/- (Rupees three hundred only) drawn in favour of The Director, Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry payable at Puducherry being the application fee, should be enclosed along with the application. SC/ST, PwD and Women candidates are exempted from payment of application fee. The Councils employees are not exempted from payment of application fee.

(10) Self attested copies of certificates in proof of Date of birth, Educational qualification (Certificate/ Statement of marks), Disability certificate (PwD), Community certificate (SC/ST/OBC), Service certificate (Ex-Servicemen) must be enclosed with the application. Candidates working in Government Departments should send their applications through proper channel or should enclose NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE along with the application.

(11) SC/ST candidates called for written test will be paid second class Travelling Allowance (To & fro fare) by the shortest route as admissible under Rules.

(12) Unsigned/Incomplete applications or applications without self attested documents, without demand draft, and the applications received after the last date shall be summarily rejected. No enquiry in this regard will be entertained.

(13) The Centre will not be responsible for any postal delay.

(14) Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidate or bringing political or other outside influence with regard to selection shall be a disqualification and such candidates will not be entertained. The decision of the Director, VCRC shall be final in all the matters in this regard.
