ICMR- NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MALARIA RESEARCH

National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR), an institute under Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), an autonomous organization under Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, engaged in basic, applied and operation research with aims to find short term as well as long term solutions to the problems of malaria in India; invites applications up to 13.11.2017 to fill up one vacancy of Scientist -B (Medical) at NIMR, Delhi in the Entry Pay Level 10 (Pre revised - Pay Band-3, Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400 ) & other allowances as per Rules at the ICMR/NIMR as per the details given below:-

1. Scientist-B (Medical):- Post: 1 (UR)

Essential qualifications: - MBBS degree recognized by MCI with 2 years of research experience from a recognized University.

Desirable qualifications: -

(i) MD in Medicine, Pediatrics, Community Medicine, Pharmacology, Microbiology or Pathology from a recognized university.

(ii) Additional post doctoral research/teaching experience in relevant subjects from recognized institute(s).

(iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence Tools/ Data Management.

Notes:-

(i) MD in above mentioned subjects shall be treated equivalent to three years experience.

(ii) Candidates with MD will be preferred for direct recruitment.

(iii) The selected candidate is likely to be posted at NIMR, Field Unit, Ranchi. However, the post carries all India transfer liability.

Job Requirement:- To plan, formulate and carry out research work on Malaria and other vector borne diseases and carry out field work and any other work assigned by the Director, NIMR from time to time.

Age Limit: - Not exceeding 35 years. Relaxable up to 5 years for Government servants and SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard.

Selection Procedure:-

1. The applications received will be screened by a Screening Committee as per the criteria adopted by ICMR. The eligible candidates will be invited to take written examination (objective/subjective type). The candidates will be called for personal discussion /interview (as per the rules of the ICMR) on the basis of merit based on marks obtained in the written test. The final decision to select will be based on the criteria adopted by ICMR.

2. Scoring Criteria for Scientist-B :-

A. Written Test - 40 marks

B. Publication, experience etc. - 20 marks

C. Personal discussion/ Interview - 40 marks

3. The written test would be of 100 marks consisting of 100 objective/MCQ/subjective type questions of one mark each for the correct answer. The final score should be computed for a maximum of 40 marks based on the marks obtained in the written test of 100 marks. For each wrong answer 0.25 marks shall be deducted. Out of 100 questions, 90 questions shall be objective/MCQ type and 10 objective/MCQ for analytical skills.

4. Level of questions would be of MBBS level covering following areas:-

A. Biostatistics

B. Computing skills

C. General Scientific/Medical Knowledge

D. Current Affairs including developments in Biomedical Sciences

E. Common sense

F. Institute specific areas

G. Post specific areas

H. Fundamental knowledge and

I. Subject specific knowledge (vector borne disease, clinical research, clinical trials, diagnostics, ethics etc.)

2. Application form duly completed in all respects and signed by the applicant should be sent to the Director, National Institute of Malaria Research, Sector-8, Dwarka, New Delhi-110077 on or before the closing date.

3. NIMR will not be responsible for late receipt of the application due to postal delay.

4. Documents to be enclosed with the application form (Self-attested copies):-

e) Crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft from a nationalized bank for Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) payable to the Director, National Institute of Malaria Research, Sector-8, Dwarka, New Delhi-110077. SC/ST/Women and PWD candidates are exempted from the application fee upon submission of attested copies of caste certificate. Application Fee is payable by all other candidates including ICMR/NIMR employees.

General Conditions:-

1. Age, qualification and experience are relax able in deserving cases as per the HRSC Rules (under Note 1 and 2 appended to the Schedule III), as amended from time to time.

2. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be as per the guidelines of DoPT from time to time.

3. OBC certificate for the purpose of age relaxation will mean PERSONS OF OBC CATEGORY NOT BELONGING TO CREAMY LAYER as defined in DoPTs OM No. 36012/22/93-Estt (SCT) dated 08.09.1993 and modified vide OM No. 36033/3/2004-Estt (Res) dated 09.03.2004 and 14.10.2008. The closing date for receipt of application will be treated as the date of reckoning for OBC status of the candidate and also for assuming that the candidate doses not fall in the Creamy layer on the reckoning date. The Candidate should furnish the relevant OBC certificate in the format prescribed for Govt. Job and furnish declaration. OBC candidates must, therefore, furnish valid and updated OBC certificate which should specifically include the clause regarding Exclusion from the Creamy Layer in order to get age relaxation.

6. Non Practicing Allowance (for medical graduate only) will be admissible as per Rules.

7. Selected candidate will be governed by the new Restructured Defined Contributory Pension System as laid down under Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division) Notification No. 5/7/2003-ECB & PR dated 22.12.2003 effective from 1.1.2004. Other benefits and relaxation as per ICMR/Govt. of India Rules in force.

8. Only outstation Candidates called for the interview/personal discussion will be paid 2nd class sleeper rail fare for the above post by the shortest route on production of valid documents.

9. Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidates or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to the selection / recruitment shall be treated as disqualification.

10. Employees working in Central/State Govt. Department/PSU and Govt. funded research agencies must forward their application form through Proper Channel.
